Got it :-)
Jun. 13th, 2006 07:04 pmGot an e-mail today around 4pm and a phone call when I got home from work.
I got the job.
So much for having to wait a week to find out! LOL They called my current bosses today for references and said the word "impressed" in regards to my interview. I'm a bit scared about performing now that I've been talked up so highly!!! They work on Macs and with some databases I haven't used before... but I have a bit of experience with Macs and I'm a fast learner. I just might be spending my first paycheck on instuctional books. LOL So I'm nervous but I'm very glad. And it's just one or two minutes away from my current work place so I can swing by a few nights a week and do work there as needed (I don't want to abandon him/the businesses)
But.. yeah. I'm now a webmaster for a national writing association. Full benefits (health, retirement), 3 weeks off for winter break, free tuition at George Mason University, and one week of travel a year to the national writer's conference. And, more importantly, doing something I love for a non-profit organization which is about something I love. DEFINITELY happy-making. *G*
I bought ice cream on the way home tonight. And we're getting take-out (Calzones from this new place down the street).
Oh, and I voted in the primary election today. *fingers crossed* There's a really great guy up against this huge Bush & Reagan supporter who "claims" to be a democrat (but I'm not buying it). So I hope the other guy wins, naturally.
So... yeah. A good day in all, I think. Even if the poor Oilers didn't do well last night. Maybe the Hershey Bears will pull off another great win tonight and make up for that!

Date: 2006-06-15 11:53 am (UTC)I don't know the technical aspects of Mac vs. PC, but I can say this: Ever since I caved to the itty bitty widdle cuteness that is the iMac mini, my old, unreliable Dell has been collecting dust. I think you'll adjust quickly and painlessly, even if you have to learn new programs. (And maybe the workplace has a software reference library, so's you won't have to shell out cash for learning materials?)
