tarotgalHi all! Remember me? LOL Busy busy busy. But happy. Don't think I've been this happy in a LONG time. Maybe never. I'd like to sleep a little more... but I can live without that :-) So... what's going on with me...
Working a lot. I still feel like I'm settling in, but I'm really excited about my job. And I love having work to do. Such a nice feeling to be busy. Except for the one chica trying to get my office for herself, it's a great place with great people and it's perfectly suited for me (except for some of the sys admin parts that I'm still getting used to and one stupid mistake I made last week I'm sure they'll forgive me for)
I went with boss from old job to see other old job bosses today (Only an hour away). Saw the laboratory and office facility they bought a little while ago for testing and development. They demoed the machinery and I enjoyed seeing it, but I'm still skeptical and glad I got a new job. I'm still doing web stuff for them all though. Which is what I do on Thursdays. Was a nice trip out there, though. They paid for lunch, which rocked as I only have $3.47 in my bank account at the moment. LOL I should have been paid Friday but HR didn't set up my account for direct deposit. Grrr!

x_posed_again made me a kickass graphic for my main page and covers for the CD/playlist I put together for the first few years of the series. I'm thrilled with that. Should be up and available soonish. But I've got several stories open and wanting to be worked on... Olly's Story, Walking (which is nearly done but I'm not going to post it until I finish Olly's story), Respect (which is not going well), and an untitled sneezing story with a character that joins the cast in Okay (also not yet posted). Today, during the trip, a Coyote bunny bit me, so I might play with that a little while. A writing prompt in a writing newsletter I get regularly called out to me and coupled with a sneezing observation today inspired the Coyote story.
Anyway, yeah, I'm excited about the CD. I keep playing it the playlist and staring at the gorgeous cover art. heehee I luvs my boys
But I haven't forgotten the fanfic boys. There's a special Spander fic I have to work on. And another Spander fic, in fact, that I've had beta help with. And there's a SW fic I kind of want to write but I didn't make it past the first paragraph. It's Obi/Qui but wants to be Obi & Ani but I just can't write that. So I dunno. I felt stuck. But it was inspired by a word-a-day calendar. And I started a new Remus & Sirius fic the other day which got a few pages long before I got distracted.
Still haven't seen da pirates. Please, no comments about that. I was supposed to see them tonight (sister's bday was yesterday) but she's got a big paper due Monday so she says she doesn't want to go out tonight. So it might not be until next week. I've been avoiding most spoilers and reviews. And I don't care how horrible it is, I know I'll still love it. LOL I'm not worried.
I worked out last Sunday. Did I mention that in a JE already? Can't remember. Probably not. It was intense. I thought, since I rock at the Tae Bo basic video, I'd try the advanced. Couldn't be that much worse? OMG! It was SO much harder and faster and it was three times as long! I was DRIPPING onto the carpet. I didn't do half of it, but it was incredibly intense. I used muscles I didn't know I had, honestly. But people in the VIDEO demonstrating the techniques stopped doing it!!! LMAO! So I didn't feel so bad. I was shocked even they got exhausted! Afterwards, I went to take a shower and looked in the mirror and had white streaks down my face. It was sweat. I've never sweat so much in my whole life! LOL But Monday and Tuesday I was in SUCH pain. My butt and abs were on fire. Good pain... but pain! I don't think I'll be doing the advanced workout again any time soon. I'll stick to the basic and lots of sit-ups.
I bought a flash drive. On sale for $24 from $30 and then there's a $12 rebate. So not bad for 512MB! Unfortunately, my computer doesn't like recognizing it... but after a few tries I made it work.
There was a woodpecker outside my window at work the other day. Bright red crested head and black & white speckled body. We looked at each other a while, he flew off, came back, and few away again. That was exciting for me :-)
We're getting broadband at home (finally) but I might not have it for another week or two.
And, yeah, everyone knows about the archive being moved. Yay for that :-) I hated the pop-ups.

I loved the pirates movie, I'm sure you will too. I am now pathetically buying all magazines with Johnny Depp on the cover. He is so my new boyfriend :)

I'll refrain from spoiling anything about POTC2, though I've been absolutely dying to be able to discuss certain aspects of it with you. I saw it for a second time yesterday, and I'll probably see it at least once more in the next few weeks. It's not spoiling anything to say that Will Turner is phenomenally sexy in this one, and there are dozens of moments that make this movie a H/C and angst lover's dream! Oh, and it's definintely not horrible or deserving of the terrible reviews it's been getting from some corners. Though I will say that it's not as good as the first, it's still a fantastically fun and enjoyable movie, and hands down better than the vast majority of movies out there this year.
