I'm comtemplating trying NaNoWriMo this year. I only have one idea for a novel that I want to write, but I don't want to write it for the month. I was thinking of just doing Strokes stuff, various stories adding up to the total page amount. I have sooooo many stories I need to get out of my head and I'm thinking maybe a month of it might get me somewhere with them. Plus it would be quite a challenge, what with the jobs and current commitments. I've been thinking of doing some online volunteering as well, once I get set up properly.
But I think I'm up to the challenge this year.
Plus, one of the books I picked up at the last library book sale is actually the NaNoWriMo handbook- that's got to be fate telling me to at least try :-)
I still have a month or two to decide :-)

Date: 2006-09-03 10:43 pm (UTC)Right now, I'm making a long list of Strokes stories I've had in mind/planned to write. That way, when November rolls around, I can just go down the list and hopefully knock them off, one by one. Right now, the list is 18 stories long. And that doesn't include the fics I've already started and want to finish. LOL
Not a lot of these have sneezing in them... which is a shame... so if you have any bunnies for me in the Strokes universe along that line, feel free to send them my way any time before the end of November! :-)

Date: 2006-09-04 04:40 am (UTC)Yayness! Of course, I reserve the right to not write ones that somehow don't fit into the grand scheme of things. But if there's something you'd like to see me play with, by all means throw the bunnies at me!
Though I do love your Strokes fics, even without the sneezing.
Awww, that's so sweet of you to say!! *hugs* I enjoy the non-sneezing ones, as well. But there's something about my boys sneezing that I really enjoy *EG* Which is why having a few more of those plotlines in the mix during November might really help my creative juices flow.
I'm writing one story now that's taking for-ev-er. But it's got lots of sneezing and a new romance I'm REALLY excited about. But it's set in the late fall of 2007 and involves at least one character I've not really introduced yet. So even after I finish it it'll be a while before I can post it. But I always seem so much more excited about stories like this one I'm working on with lots of sneezing in them. Can't imagine why, right? heehee
