Booksale #1 Day 2 & Booksale #2 Day 1

So this was the second day of the booksale I went to yesterday, and the first day of another booksale. I went to both today. I put in for 4 hours of leave time this morning at work, but ended up only taking 2 hours and 45 minutes. And when I got there the whole place was in crisis. LOL

But here's what I got today:

• Dinatopia Lost by Alan Dean Foster (hardcover and brand new)
  
• Graphic Novel-Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Ring of Fire by Doug Petrie and Ryan Sook (Awww! Look at cute comic-book Giles clean his glasses! Look at cute comic-book wheelchair-bound Spike getting all snarky about evil!Angel's plans)
  
• The Wishsong of Shannara by Terry Brooks (I loved this series as a kid, and am trying slowly to get a whole set)
  
• The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks (ditto)
  
• Two-Minute Mysteries by Donald Sobol (I love these books)
  
• The Lost Years of Merlin by T.A.Barron
  
• The Story of King Arthur and his Knights by Howard Pyle (pretty illustrations, too!)
  
• Arthurian Legends edited by Mike Ashley (hardcover) (will probably give as a present)
  
• The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and other stories in the Sketch Book by Washington Irving (as I've mentioned, I went to Washington Irving Middle School. I have a fondness for this guy)
  
• The Adventures of Wishbone: Be A Wolf by Brad Strickland (Wishbone does Beowulf = too cute! I'm dying of the cute!)
  
• The Panther Book of Scottish Short Stories selected by James Campbell
  
• Irish Miles by Frank O'Connor
  
• Celtic Fairy Tales collected by Joseph Jacobs
  
• Grimms' Tales translated by Ralph Manheim (because it's the complete set and in SUCH good condition)
  
• The Eternal Highlander by Hannah Howell & Lynsay Sands (oversided paperback) (Yeah, ick, romance... but this one I couldn't resist...)
  
• 1984 by George Orwell (for BookCrossing because I already have a copy)

• Writing Without the Muse: 50 beginning exercises for the creative writer by Beth Baruch Joselow (bought for writing bookbox... might keep for self. Looks awesome!)
  
• Audio Book-The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver (I like her stuff, and have been wanting to read this)
  
• Audio Book-The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd (yeah, I'll give away the copy I bought yesterday to my bookcrossing buddy and listen to it on CD instead, probably)
  
• Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll (hardcover) (This was seriously so pretty a book, I couldn't pass it up)
  
• Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery (hardcover) (This contains the first 3 books, unabridged and illustrated. I bought it for a coworker who LOVED the AofGG movies but has never read the books!)
  
• Papua New Guinea: A picture-sound book by Jank Curth (hardcover) (Because it's place-belong-me!)
  
• Video-The Colorado Avalanche Landslide: 1995-96 Championship Season (LMAO! I wasn't going to get this but then I read the back, and Colorado's one of my favorite teams and I just HAD to buy this! I'm very silly)
  
• And then... the best of the bunch... The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (hardcover) (This is a GORGEOUS copy with a green cover and gold on the front. It's got the author's illustrations in color and looks like it hasn't ever been read it's in such good condition, except for a little tape on the binding. I'm thrilled at the pretty- how could I pass up such a thing at $2?)
  

So all this went for $37.50. That's 38 items for $37- about a dollar each, also. But some really excellent books (lots of hardbacks and some audio books, and some presents) Seriously, I'm thrilled. I keep going back and forth between the Buffy comic and The Hobbit and Q's Guide. I'm having a VERY happy fangirl time tonight while I watch hockey.

OOoooh! I'm SO jealous of that copy of The Hobbit. It's a serious goal of mine to eventually own really nice non-movie hardback copies of The Hobbit and LOTR.

Man, I need to learn how to find if there's sales like this in my area of the woods...anyway, AMAZING find! Congrats!
