Dec. 4th, 2006 06:44 pmToday at work I wrote out a To Do list just for all the things I have to do after work today! heehee

Purple Heart came and picked up our old van this weekend. I took pictures of it and hugged it goodbye. Mom and I were both very sad. But it has a few things wrong with it and my sister refuses to drive it, so there was no reason to keep it in the driveway for another year and pay insurance on it. Still... very sad. We drove from Virginia to California and back several times in that van. We slept in it a few nights during massive thunderstorms when camping. We drove to Toronto and back and Vermont and back. So many great memories, from the very first day we got it and I sat in the back with my best friend and we listened to the radio through awesome speakers... to it slowing down but getting us through the mountains to Cali. *sigh* Bye bye van!
Mom & Dad put Christmas lights up over the weekend (Mom did most of it). Looks pretty! We have a fireplace for the first time in about 22 years, so that's being decorated, too. I'll have to post pics.
And on Sunday I was sitting down here on the comp and heard outside a very LOUD "All I want for Christmas" song playing. Mom called me upstairs and there was Santa, right outside the house, waving from atop a fire truck, lights flashing and music blaring. VERY cool. I can only assume he does this every year in this neighborhood- it's our first Christmas in the new house. But my sister's gonna be jealous that she missed Santa! LOL :-) Unfortunately, he didn't give us presents... but was still very cool indeed. In my old neighbordhood, one of the board members of the development used to dress up as Santa and go door to door to give out candy canes to the kids. But a fire engine and music driving right down every street? Kickass! heehee

Date: 2006-12-05 02:23 am (UTC)How cool to see Santa! The annual Santa parade here goes right by our street, but this year my son and I were in it. Well, he was on a float and I walked next to him.
I'm hoping to read more Strokes fics soon, I was going to today but my husband took the day off and I've been feeling sick eough to feel like crap, but not sick enough to get to stay in bed, so I'm going to crash soon.
