Miserable day today. I have three HUGE important ASAP projects at work, none of which I really know how to do. i.e. Huge learning curve. I ran around in circles all day long for project #1, setting aside my normal work which really needs to get done. And, after 9 hours, I got nothing accomplished. Well, I figured out a hundred ways it won't work. And I think I know what we need to do now, just not sure how we're going to do it. So frustrating. I'm SO emotionally drained it's not funny. Close to tears- not because I'm sad or frustrated (though I am both) but just because I've been getting so little sleep and I'm tired and it's only Tuesday! Cripes.

Bush- sigh. I just can't. *facepalm* But my senator's rebuttal was good, I thought.

I tried ordering checks- went to the bank- in mid-DECEMBER. Twice now they've called me about it and I've told them I haven't received them. And then today in the mail I got a noticed that they can't send them because my address is wrong. When I went to my freaking bank I TOLD them I moved since my last reorder and they told me no problem, it would go to where my current address on file was. WRONG. So frustrated. No checks after a month. Grrr.

Went to Target after work since Mom was going, too, to try to buy something to cheer myself up a little. Nada. Ended up getting some candy I can eat while at work tomorrow to keep myself from breaking down on the job. LOL

And then it's just a series of tiny not good things. Smashing finger in gate, accidentally taping American Idol instead of NCIS(because I'm an IDIOT), having to brave the cold to re-park my car, cat getting sick on the carpet by my desk, Ovie not doing so hot at the All Stars competition tonight(not bad, but I blame the time keeper entirely), etc. But the NHL All-Stars Juniors game was very good. And the East Coast won both the Juniors game(Go Mike Green and his bajillion assists!) and the Skills Comp. So whatever happens in the NHL All Stars Game tomorrow, the east will still be ahead in the end. *does east coast hockey dance*

In all, it's totally not an awful day- I've had much much much worse, but it's not a fun day either. So frustrated with the fact that I don't know enough about FileMaker 8 in order to do this project quickly. Growl.

And I'm sooooooooooooooo tired. Too tired to write- and I ALWAYS write. I'm going to go clean catboxes, take a hot shower, and curl up in bed with hockey romance novel for the rest of the night.

Sending hugs your way tg.
I'm so sorry you had such a crappy day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day at work for you. Sorry you didn't find anything at Target too, I'm always so bummed when I want a treat for me(instead of the kids or my husband like usual) and can't find anything.

By the way I started getting our checks from Checks in the Mail or one of those other mail order places. It was cheaper and less aggravation than my bank.

Wishing you a much better day in general tomorrow.

I'm *so* sorry you had such a crappy day. Projects, checks, finger slammed, cat sick (major eew), tv mishaps (hopefully they didn't pre-empt your show for the State of the Union Address), cold weather all = ick! You have my sympathy, big time. *HUGS*

Now I wish I'd gotten you 3 chocolate frogs instead of two, so you'd have had one tonight. Ah well, at least you should have my beta reading back sometime tonight/early Wednesday, so that's something.

I, too, ordered my checks online, through the Bradford Exchange. I have LOTR checks, actually...who would've guessed? ;-) They were more expensive than some of the places like Checks Unlimited, etc., but I couldn't pass up on them once I saw them, hehe.

Here's hoping tomorrow goes MUCH better for you!

My turn to do dueling 'Smile Legolas' icons! Hee!

It was pretty easy to order them online. You do have to have the account number and the routing number from your previous checks handy, as well as your bank's address. Then basically, you fill out how you want your name and what information you want on there besides your address. Then you choose font and such. You also tell them what check number you want your set to start at. Not too bad. It only took me a couple weeks to get my new checks in the mail. Oh, and I caved and got the matching checkbook cover and address labels too.

And actually I'm glad this topic came up. I'll have to get new checks and address labels once my new house is done. It's done in April, though I'm not moving until May, since my apartment lease runs through the end of June. Nevertheless, I have way more checks than I will ever use by then, so it's a shame I'll have to destroy the ones I have. I'm really glad they're still offering the LOTR ones though...I was worried they might discontinue them by now. If they had dc'd the LOTR ones, I was probably going to go with a retro 80's cartoon check theme, either Care Bears or Classic Strawberry Shortcake, or maybe Rainbow Brite. *G*

I'm sorry you've had such a rough day, but remember tomorrow is another day! Embrace a good night's sleep! There is no better escape from a bad day than a deep, good night's sleep.

You can just write the new one in? Sweet! I can just get new address labels then, and nothing else for the moment! Thanks for the tip!
