Apr. 17th, 2007 10:34 amSo I made it about half an hour into my work day before the tears started. I made it an hour before I gave up completely and headed home. I think what set me off was my coworker mentioning how her VT roommate told her it felt like 9/11 on a personal, smaller scale. And then I started thinking about how I spent 9/11 in the comfort of fellow Hokies and that did me in. Wish I could be down there with them today.
Totally NO idea it would hit me so hard today. Well, this has been a crappy week so far, and it's only Tuesday. Did I mention we lost power here Sunday night for a few hours? Right in the middle of the Vancouver vs. Dallas game. And Benji cat got sick again last night but luckily it was on the down side of his insulin curve so we just didn't give him his proper shot and waited for the v-ing to stop. He seems okay this morning.
So far, I have no direct connection to any of the victims yet. One was in my sister's high school class, though, I think. And I attended a lecture where one of the now killed profs spoke, but I didn't know him personally. Hard to feel even a little bit thankful though. Makes it worse to feel thankful. Fuck. I wish there were something I could do.
