Charlie/Neville & my life

Okay, so if you couldn't tell from my rectacular journal these past two days, I've developed an obsession a love for Charlie/Neville fics (specifically, ones that take place in Romania). Squee! This comes from reading two fics of that sort that were spectacular... and pretty much everything else I've read has been fantastic (there was one Draco/Neville/Charlie that I read that was just so-so for me... I enjoyed it but didn't get that "OMG I LOVED THIS!" feeling at the end).

Anyhoo, if anyone has recs of that sort, pass 'em my way!


I'm sooooooo looking forward to this weekend. Compared to all my previous weekends with trips and events and the like, I've got almost nothing scheduled! I plan to sleep as late as possible tomorrow and stay in pajamas most of the day. Then maybe cross off one of my 101 things in 1001 days goals by hitting a farmer's market (there isn't one in my area that's open when I'm not working or volunteering, so I'm seizing the opportunity). And on Saturday the library is closed so I can sleep in as late as I want two days in a row! I plan to clean a bit and replace my Easter tree with a July 4th tree. I plan to read a lot and write a lot (I've hit a bit of a block with my SG-1 penalty drabble but am hoping to get over it). And I'm planning to visit the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in DC (one of their featured countries/cultures is Wales this year-- though I suspect any mention of Torchwood will be missing, for security reasons and all that. LOL But I'm a fraction Welsh so I'm still happy about the exhibit)

Anyhoo, it's going to be a fantastically laid back and fun weekend with lots and lots of "me time" for a change. I'm definitely looking forward to it.


Oh, and on a completely random note... I finished earreading Looking for Alaska this week and it's now on my list of "holy cow, this is one of the best books ever written; everyone should read this book ASAP" books. So... um, everyone should go read it. Now. Seriously. It's amazing. And then buy/listen to 'Before and After' by Lauren Fairweather (and Kristina & Leena) and cry with sad/happy all over again. Amazing. A-fucking-amazing. Seriously. Why are you still reading this? Go get the book NOW! :-)

Speaking of Torchwood, if you haven't done so yet, you should get yourself over to the BBC Radio 4 webpage and download the new audio plays they've been doing this week. There's no spoilers for Season 3 in them so far (two out of three have been broadcast, and part 3 is live in another 8 or so hours from now), and the downloads are free for seven days only from the original date of broadcast. Ignore the 'UK only' line near the download link...international users have had no trouble downloading them.

Thanks for the heads up! I knew they were coming out this week but hadn't had a change to get to them.

Grr! I'm totally unable to download Asylum. I just get a "not available outside the UK" recording. Drat! Do you know of anywhere else I can find it?

Hmmm...I downloaded them immediately after the plays were finished being broadcast, so maybe that's the difference. I think you can still listen to them streaming for a week from anywhere, and I could probably send you the files, either on a burned copy in the mail or via file transfer if you still have an instant messenger of some sort. Up to you.

I downloaded the second one just fine. It's just Asylum that gives me problems. Bah. I'll poke around a little and see if I can't find a copy hiding somewhere online. I do have Yahoo Messenger downloaded now. I'm never *on* it but it's been useful for file transfers in the past. I'll see what I can find. Thanks!

No problem! I know you've been avoiding spoilers, but I figured this was something you could listen to safely since they're designed by the showmakers to fill in the gaps and get you ready for season 3.

I've been having a blast joining in on the live commenting reaction posts over on the torch_wood LJ group, even if I have to set my alarm so I'm up at 9:15 am EST to hear them live. It's fun to have something to share with the whole fandom all around the world at the same time, since we'll never be able to do that with actual episodes, it seems.

First- Yay! Sooo glad to meet another Nerdfighter! I'm currently totally obsessed with John Green- but nothing matches the amazingness of Looking for Alaska. Squee! I don't have ANYONE in RL or on my flist here who I can talk to about it... so if you ever want to fangirl it with me, I'm more than game. And you should TOTALLY look up Lauren Fairweather's Before & After song (it's on iTunes). Brings tears to my eyes.

Second- I've always wanted to visit Alaska :-)
