Outlander Series
May. 23rd, 2003 06:07 pmHad a sudden urge to reread parts of the Outlander series today. I tend to mark my favorite passages so I went through those. *sigh* There's nothing like a little James ALexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser to get one in the mood :-) And I had to smile at how many of my marked passages were Hurt/Comfort ones. He sneezes a number of times throughout the series- Dragonfly in Amber (two separate scenes, an adorable allergy one and a very yummy cold one) and in The Firey Cross (another cold- which practically the whole malitia comes down with). As the main character is a nurse it's interesting to see her reaction to these- which is usually to wince and administer some sort of treatment. But her desire to comfort Jamie regardless is very endearing. And Jamie is just WAY too cute when he's sneezing. Thank goodness Diana Gabaldon is fabulous with description, too :-)
Of course, there are a number of other fabulous passages throughout, but it's interesting to see how many were hurt/comfort as I'd started the series far before I knew what a fetish was. I've always been drawn to that stuff for as long as I can remember. Jamie... he's just too cute for words. Just something about a tough Scot injured in battle and not wanting to give into the pain but being forced to. And Jamie, well, he's the best character I've ever known for enduring pain- physical and emotional. So just to see him succumb to a "cold in the neb" is just too yummy *G*
Happy afternoon reading. heehee
