Awesome day- Friday
Dec. 11th, 2010 06:55 pmI had a wonderful day yesterday. I got a lot done at work in the morning. And then, in the afternoon, M's wife brought his 8 month old baby by and we all stood around admiring the way she can sit up. It was strange at work, because no one was there. Half the office was out sick. Some departments were down to 1 person (not including the Accounting department which is always 1 person). Visits from cute, adorable, happy babies always make a day brighter.
While we were standing around, admiring the baby, a package arrived for our conference direction, who had gone downstairs to his office after about a half an hour of baby admiring. We iChatted him to come up and get his saussage. He arrived with a "don't joke about saussage," but it was completely true. Someone had sent him a 3ft long giant saussage.
Also, we were allowed to go home just a wee bit early. But not before I bought the brand new Ministry of Magic album! It's nowhere near as good as Onward and Upward, but "Don't Leave" is definitely in my top 10 favorites now. And the house song is so silly it's funny. I'm never going to complain that there's new MoM, though. SO great to get another album!
I drove to the LEGO store at Potomac Mills and bought a $180 set (The Imperial Flagship, which I've been admiring for a year now) for only $130 and it came with 50 bonus LEGO VIP points (Diagon Alley LEGO set, here I come!) and 2 free boxes to fill with pick-a-brick. What a deal.
I filled up with cheap gas while I was there. I drove home and then spent a good hour driving around my neighborhood taking photos of holiday decorations to send to my local Patch's online photo gallery. It also gave me time to listen to the MoM CD about 5 times through.
I got home and it was time to watch the first two Narnia movies in preparation for Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I managed to get through them both and I teared up in all the same places. Predictable, soft-hearted tg, that's me! While watching, I got my HPA chapter website up-to-date with posts, project news, and photo galleries. And I worked on some convention stuff that needed to get done. I REALLY wanted to clear off my table so I can start building, but I didn't get quite that far.
I still got a shitload of stuff done and had such a happy day. Baby, new MoM music, LEGO goodness, Christmas lights, and Narnia. This weekend is definitely going to be about doing happy things. I need one of these weekends every so often. Just me, alone, doing happy things. Yes!
