What a week
Jan. 21st, 2011 08:49 pmI've had quite the week, and it's nonstop all weekend. We're having our HPA Interest meeting for 2011 tomorrow, so there will be lots of prep tonight. I'm even making a special Wizard Rock workout CD for the HPA's current horcrux-fighting efforts. I'm also putting together a video of my volunteering experience at the libraries.
Monday was a holiday, and I spent most of it sleeping or working on registering and organizing books. Tuesday was an unexpected snow day (yay). And the rest of the week was spent trying to do 2 weeks of work. Last week I worked several 10 hour days. We have a week until the convention for work and OMG so much still to do! I was supposed to have all my boxes packed today but I still have two to pack (someone keeps stealing my power strips. Every year I gather up 10 power strips and the next year there are only 6 in the box. WHERE ARE THEY GOING AND WHY?!). Today I worked 10 hours as well and have a ton of work to get done tonight. Not to mention I was practically stalked by union organizers on Thursday which totally shook me up. And I'm a bit pessimistic about the convention I'm running from a financial standpoint (from an organizational standpoint, all is going very well). And on Wednesday I workshopped what I imagine to be the prologue to my new novel. People enjoyed it; I was shocked! It's a little dark and kind of exciting, and I don't have the character nailed down yet. But people still liked it. And that makes me SO happy!
But out of all of that crazy, came this, from National Geographic. It's possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life: http://dft.ba/-cutemonkey Be warned! The cuteness might just kill you!
