Not a fun day...
Jun. 3rd, 2003 02:01 pmWoke up very stuffy- not so much sneezing as runny nose... stomach and head hurt, too, but I think that's because of little sleep. Went to bed at 8, woke up before noon... I've been VERY cold since last night. Grrr. I don't think I'm sick, but I feel bad enough to be.
And I just found out I have a meeting tomorrow morning at 8. WFT? Who in academia gets up before 8am in the summer??? *growl* Apparently me.
My boyfriend wants to go see that new "people get killed" movie... Wrong Turn, or something like that? I hate that kind of crap. One of his top 3 favorite movies is Halloween- and that stuff drives me NUTS. I honestly don't see the point. They're all similar and there's nothing exciting to get your brain working, just startling or violent killings. It's all just people getting killed and other people running then getting killed. Once in a while there's a decent side plot or a bit of character development in these things- but I've sat through some of the Halloween movies 3 times now- bored out of my freaking head. I had to watch Halloween Resurrection in theaters and then again when he got it on DVD (I just sneezed twice) The writing was so bad I was saying lines along with the actors the first time around (can we say predictable?)
BUT boyfriend likes this kind of crap (I prefer things like Identity, Silence of the Lambs, or the Ring which at LEAST make you think with little logic and perception puzzles, and at LEAST have some character development) and he asked Sunday. Interesting how it takes me 3 weeks to get him to see X2 with me, and 2 days for me to agree to see some POS with him. I'm being too nice, aren't I?
*sigh* The movie reviews look HORRIBLE for it, too.
*sigh* Well, at LEAST it's got an actor from Six Feet Under in it... albeit a character I HATE on the show *wants to punch Billy hard in the stomach* actually *wants to hire someone with actual muscle to punch Billy hard in the stomach* Yes, that's better.
Gonna sneeze again... damnit never mind, went away. heehee they always get shy when I announce
Maybe coffee. That will warm me up, right? Can't stop shivering this morning. Grrr. This should be a FUN movie experience, huh? LMAO

Date: 2003-06-03 04:12 pm (UTC)I loved Braveheart :-) I'm obsessed with Scotland, though, so that's why. And the romance, though not historically grounded, was really sweet in it. The honor, the passion, the inspiration, the love, the dedication, the cute men in kilts *G* Yep, good movie. And I loved Blair Witch... though I was dissapointed at Blair Witch 2 which was good, but confusing and, well, not the same at all, really.
Hope you found the CD you wanted! I know what it's like trying to get ahold of hard-to-get-ahold-of things :-) heehee

I've watched Blair Witch 2 twice now... still can't really figure out what happened *confused* So I doubt I'll make it a third LOL
Glad you found the CD! :-)

Date: 2003-06-05 02:22 pm (UTC)I've only seen it once... and once was enough for me. Watched it with a friend in a cold, almost deserted theater... scared me to death...
We went for a walk afterwards to another shopping center and passed through a field where there were rocks- I nearly freaked out again.
Yeah... I don't think I could watch it again... which is really the mark of a scary movie for me :-)
