Sick kitty
Apr. 8th, 2013 01:16 amSo, I had a kind of not great day. Last night I started worrying about my cat. He hasn't been eating much and yesterday he didn't eat at all until after midnight, and then it was just a few bites of food. He was drooling and not very responsive yesterday as well. I spent a lot of time last night just sitting with him. He would pur when he was petted but he wouldn't really move or rub against me or anything like usual, and the drooling was starting to worry me. So I woke up early Saunday morning and called the vet. I got him an emergency (read: extra $100) appointment today. As soon as I made the appointment, Max started eating again. LOL I took him in and the vet said he's lost a pound and a half of weight but couldn't find anything wrong with him. He's on anti-nausea meds and he got fluids. So as soon as I brought him home, he went straight over to his food and ate half a can in a flash. Definitely did him some good.
So I spent most of the day cuddling with Max on the couch (he started dreaming in my arms and twitching--it was so adorable) and logging snarfs. I really wanted to spend the day crafting and writing, but so be it. Max is feeling better, but I'll have to watch him over the next few days and see how he is overall (i.e. it's easy to feel better after fluids, but if there's a big problem, it might still be there). He was super clingy for the rest of the day, but he seemed much more like normal, walking around, jumping up onto the couch, and eating more than he has been this week. So I'm glad I took him in.
