Netflix Originals
Apr. 29th, 2013 11:24 pmAnyone else watching these Netflix Original series? House of Cards was AMAZING. I watched the original, as well, and it really didn't compare (apart from a character who sneezes occasionally at the beginning). I really enjoyed House of Cards. Lots of great layers and twists. I couldn't get enough of the series.
I'm finishing up Hemlock Grove right now. I haven't read the book, but now I don't think I need to. Though I kind of want to. It's not for the faint of heart--a couple icky visuals here and there. Okay, a LOT of blood and gore. And v-ing; there's that, too. And the acting isn't always phenomenal (a couple characters really get on my nerves, and I kind of can't forgive them for taking such a gorgeous, orgasm-inspiring accent as Dougray's and turning it American). But there are a few great actors and quite a few twists I absolutely did NOT see coming. That impresses the hell out of me. And it's much more my tastes, with angels and werewolves and Battlestar Galactica cast members and... other things.
Anyhoo, I'd love to talk about 'em if anyone has seen them! And if you haven't seen them, I recommend them.

Date: 2013-05-04 08:20 am (UTC)I saw the pictures of Hemlock Grove and read the description of it and it seemed good but then I watched the trailer and I didn't know anymore. The trailer made it seem more confusing than the description so I don't know if I will be pushing to watch that next.
Give me until Sunday/Monday and I should have the first episode of House of Cards watched.
