SPN & Stuff
Jan. 1st, 2014 05:23 pmSo... having a bad day today. Not horrible or anything, just overslept because my alarm clock malfunctioned, so I didn't take my medication on time. And my stomach hurts really badly, but I don't think that has anything to do with the medication. And I'm going back to work tomorrow, which is kind of sad-making. I've always found the end of vacations kind of depressing!
And I just finished Season 8, which was fantastic and heartbreaking. But I think I need an SPN break. So much amazing SPN in just a couple days/weeks... I'm overloaded. Which was GREAT, don't get me wrong. I'm glad I marathoned it. But after that ending, I don't think I'm emotionally prepared to start Season 9 just yet. I think I need to take a short break. I feel overwhelmed with what just happened. MAN... that was intense.
I watched the hockey Winter classic just now while working on my 2013 artifact journal/scrapbook/diary thing. I'm nearly done with it. YAY!
Half an hour before I head over to my parents' place and then we carpool to the movies. I'm treating them to the Hobbit movie. Trying to get my family to do something as a family is worse than wrangling cats, I swear. Talk about leaving things to the last minute of winter break! LOL
Last night, I hung out with my parents for New Years. We played the LEGO Hobbit game (which my dad ROCKED at, but I ended up winning at just by a lucky dwarf find). Then we played Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit, where I embarrassingly kicked ass. I got a LOT of questions wrong though. I could NOT remember the word "Crebain" to save my life and feel so stupid. And my father would not accept "large black birds from Dunland" as an answer. LOL My parents kept answering with medicines, though ("The elf king Benadryl" was mentioned more than once). And I learned that I SUCK at remembering things like the locations in Middle Earth or random facts like Arwen's last name. But I'd gotten all six wedges and was going for the win while my Dad had only two wedges and had fallen asleep fifteen minutes before and my mother only had one wedge. It was a fun game, though. Lots of laughs from us all. And I was impressed at the details I did actually correctly remember. Good times :-)
I had soup that hurt my tummy. My parents had their traditional root beer floats. And we watched Kathy Griffin & Anderson Cooper, like usual (when we weren't watching the LotR DVD game clips).
Okay. Going to go try to eat something light and pack my purse with Saltines. As I can no longer eat real food but my tummy starts hurting if I don't put something into it every few hours, I no longer feel guilty about sneaking food into the movie theater in my purse. They don't sell Gatorade and Saltines in the movie theater anyway.

Date: 2014-01-02 06:02 am (UTC)You should totally watch LotR. They really are high quality and full of great moments. Plus we get a sneeze from Martin (John Watson) in the first Hobbit movie, and we get Benedict as a dragon vs. Martin as a Hobbit in this movie; it's neat seeing them opposite each other but not Sherlock & Watson :-)
I barely made it through the movie and home again. But after eating a little and doing nothing for a few hours, I started feeling better. Thank goodness.
