Just got home from Brickfair. It was utterly amazing. A few disappointing moments made up for by brilliant ones. The whole thing just seems unreal to me still. It is amazing to get to spend so many days with "my people" in person. I strengthened some friendships, I got to see the Brickumentary with people IN the movie in a private screening (which is an experience I doubt I'll ever get again), and I experienced several moments of selfless generosity that left me with a few items I will forever cherish. Plus I got to show off some things I built and see some freakin amazing things built by others.

I'm going to Shore Leave in 4 days where John Barrowman is a guest. I think I'd be a little more excited if I weren't really worried about going to a new con where I'll be surrounded by strangers. Also, I might be more excited if I hadn't just spent 2 full paychecks at Brickfair. Yeah. Um. That's a long long LONG story involving a charity auction. So... yeah. I'm not going to have any money to buy cool things at the convention. And I'm nervous about going. But I might get to see John Barrowman. So that's cool, right? I should be excited, not nervous.

Congratulations on being self-published! I've only ever gotten free copies of my National Novel Writing Month Novels and never tried publishing them, but it always feels good to have a copy in your hands.

And I hope you get to see Barrowman at the con, and that he's really funny and nice. You'll have to report back to us afterwards!
