I kind of got carried away a bit with it, though I didn’t get quite as graphic as I normally do when writing some of these fics. I’m a bit nervous about it, especially as the plot is totally contrived. But I really hope you like it anyway!

As far as Kitty Pride was concerned, summer days like this one were better than any vacation. Feet up on the coffee table. A tall glass of lemonade in hand. A marathon of mindless reality programming on the television. Warm sun streaming through the window. A couch jam-packed with comfortable pillows and cushions. And since most of the team was out making contact with a possible new recruit, for the rest of the X-Men left there were absolutely no missions scheduled. No training simulations. No practices even. Nothing to do but relax, stretch out, and bask in the bliss of a perfect summer day. Perfect.
Kitty had just drained her glass of lemonade down to the last three melting ice cubes when Rogue ran through the institute’s living room. That was strange. Rogue usually wasn’t in a rush unless there was some sort of emergency. But there couldn’t be an emergency. If there were an emergency, Storm would be on the intercom system telling them to suit up.
“X-Men, meet in the main hall.”
Damn it. With a forlorn look at the television, Kitty headed off to change her flannel pajama bottoms for her uniform and her fuzzy bunny slippers for boots.
Rogue and Storm were already waiting for her, impatient and anxious. “What?” Kitty said, shrugging. It had taken maybe five minutes to change. Probably more like three, actually. “Did you want me to kick butt in my pjs?” Hands on hips, she asked, “So, um, like whose butt exactly are we kicking?”
Storm explained as much as she could, “We’re not entirely sure. Spyke just sent word. Some of the Morlocks have encountered something strange in some underground tunnels. They’ve tried getting close enough to see what’s going on, but something stops them. Callisto doesn’t want to risk any of the mutants being hurt, so it’s up to us to investigate.”
“Oh great. I’m giving up a perfectly wonderful, sunny summer day to go crawl around in some dirty sewer tunnels for someone who’s manipulated us and tried to kill us?”
Storm’s look shut Kitty down at once. “Regardless of what Callisto has done in the past, the Morlocks are our allies and now and are under my protection. If something endangers them, it may endanger other mutants or even humans. We need to investigate.”
Rogue hardly looked sympathetic as she followed Storm toward the garage. “Maybe it’ll be fun. You don’t know.”
An hour later, Kitty quickened her pace until she was alongside Rogue. She lowered her voice just enough for it to sound like a kind of joke. “So, Rogue, you’re going to let me know when the fun’s started, right?” Kitty wished all of this were just one big joke. It felt like they’d been walking for what felt like hours, and her feet were beginning to hurt. Rogue had passed impatient about twenty minutes and fifteen tunnels back; even she had come around to thinking this was a bad idea.
Worst of all, there was something in these tunnels that was making Kitty’s nose itch fiercely. No matter how much she scratched and rubbed, it was still all ticklish. The rubbing did just enough to keep the tickling from developing into something more, but it was almost worse this way. A constant fluttering in her sinuses she just couldn’t get rid of. Every breath in brought with it this tiny, undeniable urge to sneeze. And she couldn’t figure out what the heck was causing it. There weren’t any flowers or plants down here. She couldn’t be suddenly allergic to dirt and concrete, right? And she tried to sniff the air to see if maybe there was some gas or smell that was setting her nose off, but every time she took an even stronger breath, the urge to sneeze got so much worse. The way her nose felt right now, she was worried that once she started sneezing, she might get lost in the fit and be unable to stop. So she just kept rubbing and scratching and hoping that they got out of here soon. But it would be at least another hour back out even if they turned around right this very second.
Which they weren’t about to do. “It should be just up ahead to the right,” Storm said, staring at the map in one hand and the tricked out GPS that Forge had come up with some time ago that kinda sorta worked underground.
“Let’s hope you’re right,” Rogue said. “Because after all the time we’ve spent on this already, I want to have somethin’ to show for it. I want it to be a thing.”
And just before they turned the corner, it was. The three of them stopped in their tracks at the sound of voices. First low, quiet, then a little louder. There was something familiar about them, though it took Kitty a moment to realize. “I think that’s Lance!” she hissed.
Rogue nodded and whispered back, “Sounds like the Brotherhood. If we hurry, we could catch them in the act!”
They took off at a run, Storm flying behind them. Once they turned the corner into the next tunnel, they had their targets in sight. Targets that didn’t seem to be doing much except standing around. Targets that seemed surprised to see their old adversaries. Targets that started running—or, in Toad’s case, hopping—away. That seemed strange enough to send up a red flag in Kitty’s mind, but Rogue kept going and Storm was right behind, so Kitty kept going too.
The second red flag happened halfway down the tunnel. There was a spot where Kitty felt immediately wobbly and dizzy. The sensation lasted for only an instant, but it was enough to stop her in her tracks. She looked over at Rogue who had pressed her hand to her forehead and hunched over a little. “What’s wro—“ Storm began to ask just as Avalanche made his move.
The whole tunnel began to shake. Cracks appeared in the floor and were immediately stoppered by large chunks of the ceiling falling. Kitty and Rogue jumped out of the way to avoid several large pieces, and that’s how they found themselves on one side and Storm on the other. But when the trembling stopped and they turned to see what had become of the Brotherhood, they found that side of the tunnel caved in as well. The entire Brotherhood had made it to safety, except one member: Wanda.
She banged her fist on the rubble for all the good it did her. She was trapped just like them. And in some ways, that made Kitty feel a little better. At least part of the Brotherhood’s plan had failed. But what exactly had they been up to here?
Rubbed again at her nose, Kitty put her hand on Rogue’s shoulder. “It’s okay. I’ll get us out of here.” The tickle fluttered into more than just an itch, and she rubbed even harder. “Just… just give me a second…” It wasn’t working this time. It was doing no good. The sneeze was coming. She relented, raising her arm and sneezing into the crook. “hep-Chii!” She expected to feel some relief from that, but damn it if the tickle wasn’t twice as strong now. She pinched her nose and held her breath. Then she walked forward, concentrating on phasing through the rockface.
Only to hit it straight on. She lost her hold on both her nose and Rogue in surprise. “het-Chih! ehChii!” she sneezed again. Then, quickly, before another sneeze could strike, she tried again to get through. But once again she couldn’t make it. Her hand met solid rock and couldn’t penetrate it. “Rogue,” she said, trying to control the panic in her voice. Well-trained X-Men do not panic! “My powers aren’t working.”
“What?” Immediately, Rogue pulled off one of her gloves. She seemed to be contemplating testing her powers by touching Kitty when they heard Wanda clearing her throat behind them.
“Don’t bother,” said Wanda, somehow sounding both annoyed and bored. “They won’t work here. Not with the suppressor in place.” She sighed in frustration. “I can’t even bend reality enough to imagine myself someplace better than this.” She banged on the wall again. “Pietro! I’m going to kill you if you don’t get me out of here right this second!”
So they were stuck. Stuck in here with no powers. Fantastic. This must have been what the Morlocks had been so suspicious off—a part of the tunnels where their powers wouldn’t work. Or maybe they’d seen the Brotherhood working on this so-called suppressor, wherever that was. Either way, they were in serious trouble now.
Stuck in here with no way out and something bothering Kitty’s nose was bad enough. But it was dawning on her that she really should have made a quick trip to the bathroom before meeting the others. That pitcher of lemonade she’d had, one glass at a time, was starting to sit heavy in her bladder now. It wasn’t too bad yet, but if they didn’t get out there pretty soon…
“Rogue? Kitty? Can you hear me?” Storm spoke through their communicators.
“We hear ya,” Rogue answered for them. “But we can’t get out. Our powers aren’t working.”
“Stand back from the wall. I’m going to try something.” They could hear her voice through the stone, but it was soft. What they heart next was a boom loud enough to resonate through, however.
The crack of thunder and roar of wind was so close and so loud Kitty put her fingers in her ears. This left her nose completely unattended. “heh-Chii! Ehh-eh-CHIHH!”
“Hey, are you all right?” Rogue asked. Her accent always seemed to sound stronger when she was concerned.
But Kitty barely heard it over the sound of the weather and of her own uncontrollable sneezing. “ehh-Chiii! EhShiiih! heh-Shee!”
Her nose starting to run and eyes starting to water now, Kitty took her finger out of her ears and wiped her sleeve across her face. And now she could hear water rushing down the stones like a waterfall. Storm was trying all she could to shift the rubble from the cave-in, but her efforts were doing nothing to help.
They were, however, starting to make Kitty squirm. That hissing rush of water made her think of one thing and one thing only: how much she really wished she’d been trapped somewhere with a toilet. Oh my God, this isn’t going to be good. The water stopped finally, ending in a steady trickle as streams made their way through the great wall of rock. That sound was just as bad—maybe even worse.
Feeling an urge building there, Kitty took her other finger out of her ear and gave her crotch a quick squeeze. She hoped no one had noticed, and she crossed her legs afterward, pretty sure that would help. But the trickling sound was maddening. She could just imagine water dripping from each angular surface to the one below and it made her want to let out what she was holding, letting it trickle down her legs for some much-needed relief. If her nose wasn’t going to stop tickling, she should at least be able to get a little relief that way.
“This isn’t working.” Storm told them. “I’m going to need to go for help. Sit tight.”
And then she was gone. Kitty and Rogue exchanged twin looks of despair. Wanda looked less devastated and more furious. Kitty was actually glad the Scarlet Witch didn’t have her powers; she was sure whatever energy she’d be sending out would not be good for anyone right now.
Storm was getting help. That was good. But it was going to be at least two hours until help could get to them. Two hours, maybe more. There was no way Kitty could wait that long. No way. Kitty leaned against the wall of the tunnel and slid down so she was sitting on the ground. She pressed her thighs together and pinched her nose tightly. Two hours? I’m not even sure I can make it two minutes.
“What’s wrong?” Rogue asked, sitting down next to her. “You gotta sneeze or somethin’?”
Kitty nodded. Telling Rogue everything that was wrong was just way too embarrassing, especially with Wanda just a couple yards away. Once again, Kitty was glad Wanda didn’t have her powers and couldn’t hear her thoughts. Kitty stretched her legs out and crossed them. “Yeah, like, I thik I’b allergic to subethig dowd here.” He voice sounded funny, all nasally and stuffed-up when she talked with her nose pinched. “I’b tryig dot to sdeeze, but…” But she knew that she was fighting at least one losing battle here. But X-Men didn’t go down without a fight.
She looked over at Wanda, who was standing against the opposite wall, arms crossed. Rogue seemed to be reading her mind when she asked, “What’s goin’ on here? I know you must know. What’s with this suppressor device you mentioned?”
“Just something the Brotherhood’s been working on.”
“Explains why it went wrong then.”
“If it weren’t working, we wouldn’t be stuck here.”
“But somethin’ tells me you weren’t supposed to be stuck here with us.” Rogue definitely had a point.
“True. This was supposed to be a trap for the X-Men. We’re testing the system.”
Before Rogue had a chance to express her indignity at being a test subject, Kitty’s breath hitched. She tried to control it, but to no avail. “ih-hihChiii! hehChihhh!” The tickle in her nose had gotten worse since she’d sat down, but she couldn’t stand up now. She just couldn’t. “ih-CHIH!” But the sneezes were getting stronger and pretty soon she wouldn’t be able to hold them back even a little. This was almost as bad as that time they’d been collecting plant samples for Hank and the whole ride back in the X-Jet Kitty had sneezed her head off. But at least then she hadn’t had to go so badly. “ih-ih-” The sneeze stopped there, waiting just on the brink. Maybe it wouldn’t come. Maybe it that ticklish urge would vanish and she could go back to concentrating on her situation. Maybe “IH-CHIIIH!”
Kitty felt a bit of warmth escape, spurting into her panties. Alarmed, she clenched and wriggled, bouncing up and down in place in a panic. It was just a tiny little bit. More than a few drops, but not that much more. And she’d made it stop before it got any worse. When she glanced down, she didn’t even notice a difference in appearance, so Rogue and Wanda probably wouldn’t notice anything either.
Except they had noticed her. Oh no. Realizing that they were both staring at her, she immediately quit bouncing and tried to look casual. But just that little bit of an accident had thrown her off her game. Her nose tickled fiercely, desperate to relieve whatever allergen was down here, invading her nose with every single breath. And her bladder twinged and thumped, desperate to relieve a little more of the pressure it felt… or all of it. It suddenly felt so full and so sensitive. She squeezed her thighs together tighter, grinding, but that didn’t help one bit. Any second now she was going to sneeze again and then it would all be over.
“ehh…” Oh no no no no! I can’t sneeze again! And just like that, here the sneeze came. Kitty scrubbed hard and fast at her nose with her index finger, her nostrils warm and sore and red from all the rubbing. But her breath still caught. “ihh!” I can’t… can’t help it! I’m gonna… I’m gonna sneeze and… oh no! “Ih-ih-IH!” Frantically, she grabbed her crotch with her free hand and squeezed hard. “ihh-CHIIIIIHHH!”
The sneeze had been the strongest yet, but thanks to her grip, she hadn’t wet herself this time. She wasn’t sure how much longer she’d be able to hold out, though.
“Um, Kitty? Are you all right?” Rogue asked again. “You look like you’re gonna…” she trailed off when she must have realized that was exactly what Kitty was about to do. “Aw, man. You gotta go, don’t you?”
Just short of whimpering, Kitty nodded. “I really have to pee. I can’t help it. And every time I sneeze, I get so close.”
“Just do it!” came Wanda’s voice, sounding casual, unbothered—the exact opposite of the panic Kitty was bursting with. The scarlet witch was sitting on the ground not far away, pushing pebbles around with the steel toe of one of her boots. “It’s no big deal.”
It was a big deal, though. Up until now, no matter what else happened, Kitty still had her pride. She refused to just give up, even if that meant holding her crotch tightly through her pants where the others could see.
“If I had my powers,” Wanda said again, “I’d make you relax and let it out. Then you’d see it was nothing to be ashamed of.”
Kitty was overwhelmingly grateful that Wanda didn’t have her powers. And then she was just as glad that Rogue didn’t have hers either. Because Rogue’s ungloved finger was suddenly at her nose, pressing firmly against Kitty’s twitching nostrils for her. Rogue’s touch was soft but strong, and the tickle stayed in Kitty’s nostrils then, dancing and playing but not building up into a sneeze. Kitty took advantage to apply more pressure to her crotch, holding on with both hands as if her life depended on it.
“ih! Ihhhh!” The tickle backed away. “ih! HIH!” Back down again. “ihhhhhh!” And once again, Rogue’s touch kept it in check so Kitty could concentrate on what was happening down below. She thought maybe, if she were very, very lucky, she just might be able to hold out like this until help came.
Then everything happened at once. That strange, dizzy sensation washed right over her again, throwing her concentration right out. What’s more was that she felt suddenly weak and tired, drained of energy for a couple seconds. Her grip loosened. The need in her pants intensified. And Rogue pulled her hand away.
Kitty was done for before she even realized it was happening. “ihh-IHTCHHH! HIH-CHIIIH!” Pee flooded into her pants, an unstoppable force, just like her sneezes. “ihh-CHIHH! Ih-ih-ihChihhh!” She couldn’t help it, couldn’t stop it. She just felt too sneezy. All she could do was cup a hand over her nose and mouth to at least catch the sneezes as they came. “ihh-Chiiiii! ihCheee! Ihh-ihhCHIH! ihChhttt! Ihh-hchiiii!”
“hah-AHChuhh! AhhTchooo!”
Startled, Kitty pulled her eyes open to see Rogue with both gloveless hands to her face, steepled around her nose, her eyes closed as she sneezed.
And suddenly the tunnel around them faded away. Kitty found herself on a gorgeous island paradise, submerged to her chest in a lagoon. The warm waters surrounding her made her relax completely. She closed her eyes, enjoying the comforting sensation and the feeling of wet water all around her as she wet, the hot urine spilling into the lagoon, hidden under the surface of the water. She knew she wasn’t here really, that she was really back in the tunnel still. “ehh-Chihhh!” And the tickle in her nose reminded her of that. But Wanda had made everything feel so real. And so wonderful. She almost didn’t care. She lowered her hand and sneezed freely. “ihh-Chehhh! ihhhChihhhhh!” Her arms bobbed loosely at her sides in the water and the uncovered sneeze made ripples in the water in front of her, making her giggle. “ehh-Cheeee!”She knew she should be feeling more embarrassed, but it felt so good to finally let them out, to let it all out.
Finally, she was done peeing, the last little trickle leaving her with an overwhelming sense of relief.
“hahhh-AHShooo! Man, Kitty!” Rogue’s voice cracked and she sniffed. “You weren’t hah… hahh-AHKShoo! You weren’t kidding when you said you had to sneeze.”
The vision melted away around her, leaving Kitty back in reality again. She glanced over at Wanda, who smiled at her and shrugged. Then she looked at Rogue, desperately rubbing at her nose. She must have picked up a little of Kitty’s allergy from the touch. So Wanda obviously had her powers back. And Rogue definitely had her powers back. Which meant… Kitty stood up. She looked down to see the wet spot at her crotch and the legs of her uniform. The black material hid a lot, but not everything. The fabric was no darker, but it was shiny. Kitty blushed knowing the Brotherhood was out there somewhere, having finally shut down the suppressor, and might see her like this. But that didn’t mean she wanted to wait around here to get rescued. She held out her hands, one to Wanda and one to Rogue. “Grab hold. I’ll get us out of here now.”
Wanda got up, vowing again to find her brother and enact her own personal brand of vengeance. And Rogue rose, pulling her gloves back on while trying to sneeze into the back of her wrist. “ahhh-Chuhh! hahTchuhh!”
“ihhh-Chihh!” Kitty echoed.
“You sure you’re up to this?” Wanda asked suspiciously. “Not going to unphase in the middle and get us trapped in the middle of rock, right?”
Kitty scrubbed her nose into her shoulder and sniffled. With a decisive nod, she took their hands and guided them out through the caved-in rubble and rock into the safe part of the tunnel. Though there was still something there in that tunnel that made her sneeze. “ehh-CHihhh!” It was going to be a long walk back.
