tarotgalOK... so tomorrow's a full day... wake up at bloody 9am (I've been waking up around noon, checking e-mail, then going to sleep until 2pm) going to the bank to sign loan papers, then calling body shops. Hopefully then going to one to get a free estimate for my van (Did I mention, the sliding side door FELL OFF IN MY HANDS)
THEN, back home, quickly pack, and it's driving up to my parents' in Northern VA- possibly in the rickedy old van with one broken window and a broken door... I get SCARED TO DEATH driving it above 55... and I'll have to go at least 70 in most places just to keep up with traffic. Anyway, then a night in NOVA, and then collect my new-to-me car in the morning from my best friend's father. (Which is what I need the loan for) It's a '96 Honda Civic which isn't the newest, but better than my current broken '89 mini van *G*
I'm hoping eventually (assuming one day I get a real job) I get to trade it in for a Honda Element. I'm in LOVE with the Honda Element. And I hate driving little cars!
Anyway, cat is coming with me, I think, and that should be fun since it's only me in the car and I wouldn't be able to let him out of his cage and have roaming rights *reminds self to pack soothing music so cat is not meowing for four/five/six hours straight*
Then Sunday I go out with sister to see Pirates (I'm hoping to hit my favorite ice cream place, and my favorite used book store as well while I'm up there) Boyfriend was miffed when I said I was going to see the movie without him... but I promised him I'd see it with him- so I'll certainly end up seeing it twice in theaters, which does not disappoint me one bit! *S*
I'm planning to return home on Monday, assuming I can get the DMV papers straightened away then and can drive the car back down to my apartment.
Ug. Have I mentioned that I hate driving? I can do it just fine (drove a van down from New Jersey to Virginia a few years ago) I just don't LIKE to do it. But I have a cell phone. And boyfriend will be driving halfway at the same time (not too far away in case I break down) and parents will be driving down to shadow me as well for the rest of the way. Kind of silly really. LOL But makes me feel better. Poor old van. Who'd have thunk the old thing made it from Virginia to California and back three times? And once from Virginia to Vermont and back... and once from Virginia to Toronto and back... It's had its share of adventures and mountains and floods and all that. Kind of sad to see it do, actually. Spent many days living in it :-) *sniffles* But, um, working doors and windows are good, too.
Anyway, just thought I'd share and explain why I won't be around until Monday. :-)
