Have You Ever...

tarotgalHave you ever bought something because it reminded you of a fanfic? I'm reading From You I Cannot Hide as it's posted, and in it sub!Tony finds strength to overcome abuse in his past thanks to Cap and Cap's dogtags. In fact, he starts holding the dogtags for comfort even when they're not in a scene, and when Cap leaves for a mission, he leaves them behind for Tony. Today at Walmart I came across a Captain America dog tag for $5 (marked down from $15) in the jewelry department and had to buy it. I'm such a sub. And a fangirl. And hopeless. LOL!
I did go out and buy Batman band-aids because of my SPN fic. And there are other instances I can't recall offhand. I do sometimes buy things that remind me of my original characters, with absolutely no plan with what to do with them... as if I'll meet my characters one day in person and need gifts for them. "Oh, Pit would love this mug with a motorcycle on it!" *buys* "My character, Lena, will be doing Markeroni, better buy her a special mascot online and set up an account on the site for her to it looks like she's actually doing it." So this isn't the first time I've bought something specifically because it reminds me of a fanfic/story.
Plus, it's so pretty and shiny.
