Exhausted tg is Exhausted
Apr. 3rd, 2016 06:10 pmI survived my 10th conference. It was probably my second-hardest (we don't talk about Boston). So many huge things kept going wrong. But it was also a good conference; so many attendees kept telling me they were having great times. I did manage to squeeze in about 7 hours of free time throughout the week (mostly Monday afternoon for 2.5 hours and Tuesday morning for 2.5 hours ) so I had a few minutes to track down Leonard Nimoy's star on the walk of fame with my fellow Trekie coworker and tracked down a cemetery where Buffy was filmed as well as the Hyperion Hotel where Angel exterior shots were filmed with a fellow Whedonverse fan coworker. I also got to meet Richard Siken (of the poem I memorized earlier this year) and Phil Klay walked behind me as my coworker was fangirling him and I didn't realize who he was until he left or I would have totally been right there with her. D&D session went bust after about 20 minutes, but I hope we'll pick up where we left off when we get back to the office.
Feels SO GOOD to be done with this conference. Now, only 10 months until the next one! Proposals close at the end of this month!
Exhausting. I mean, there were nights I could barely move I was so tired. I barely drank, so there were times I wanted to cry and physically couldn't because I was so dehydrated. And there was one night I fell asleep in bed while I still had sushi dinner in my mouth (I had sushi 3 nights in a row; don't judge LOL). I missed my girls so much and am glad to be home.
Now I'm going to go shower and use my own bathroom (OMG I missed my house with my things and my food and my cats) and try to not fall asleep until tonight, otherwise I'll be all messed up sleep-wise (I hate going east to west; I always get all messed up).
