Stargate SG1!

Just heard that Stargate SG1 has been renewed for an 8th season, with both Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks signing on! YAY! I'm a little sad about a character who's going to be killed off this season and I would love to see back again... but at least there's going to be a 'back again' after season 7 ends! YAY!!! *happy bounces* It's neat following a series that is still on the air. All my favorites seem to get cancelled. LOL Says a lot about my taste, huh?

Where did you find this info, TG? I wanna read this for myself. I'm honestly amazed it's getting renewed though. My understanding was that Richard Dean Anderson was getting sick of it...hence his greatly decreased appearance you'll notice in some of the later eps this season.

Well, I got it from one of my sci-fi mailing lists... and that person did not give a source. But I did a search and *looks* like the news is true:

The source is TV Guide Magazine... which I suppose is trust-worthy when it comes to this sort of thing, being the most popular magazine in the US *rolls eyes*

I was worried about that, knowing the actors' opinions (Especially RDA) as well as the new Stargate Atlantis spin-off which could easily mean an end to SG1 in a pssing-the-torch sort of way. But looks like season 8 will happen anyway. No confirmation on the main scifi.com stargate site... but... looks pretty valid... I hope?

Of course, at the same time this could all be a horrible joke issue to get the fans' hopes up... I guess time will tell. I'll mention if I find anything else.

I have the same problem with my favourites getting cancelled. With the exception of Law and Order. I think that it must be a sign of good taste. ;)

I never really got into Law and Order... but I still end up watching it once or twice every few weeks. Some really good cases- without all of the weight and angst of NYPD Blue (which is why I stopped watching that) I also like how it follows through to the courts- feels more complete than a lot of shows which just concentrate on the law portion or the order portion :-)

But yeah.. I always think one day I'll own my own channel and buy up all my favorite shows so they can live on television forever *G* Course that would make a very boring channel for most people... with mostly shows with drama and historical flashbacks (Indiana Jones Chronicles, Forever Knight, Highlander, etc.) Oh well :-)
