In the hospital
Nov. 16th, 2016 12:58 amHad stomach pain on saturday night. Got better on monday and tuesday but ended up going to urgent care clinic tues morning at 9:30am to be sue it wasnt anything serious. The gave me an ultrasound order. I went in for an ultrasound at 2pm and they told me I had qppendicitis and to drive around the block to the hospital immediately. Same surgeon who took out my gallblader in 2014 came and took out my appendix around 8pm. Awake now, waiting for pain meds to kick in, but alive and doing okay. Needless to say, I didnt make my wordcount for the day. Lol

Date: 2016-11-16 11:22 pm (UTC)I just got discharged this afternoon, which in and of itself was full of drama (they pulled my IVs out and I was left alone to wait for "transport" out of the hospital. As I was sitting there, I felt wetness on the inside of my sleeve. I took off my coat to find my arm dripping with blood. I called the nurses but no one came immediately, so I had to try to clean off my jacket and stop the bleeding in the bathroom on my own. Finally the woman who came with the wheelchair flagged down a nurse for me who got me a new bandage just as the bleeding stopped on its own. Such a weird way for this all to end!).
Still in a lot of pain from the surgery, but better than after gallbladder surgery. So I guess that's good. Am staying with my parents, because my cats' favorite thing to do is jump on my chest when I'm sleeping. Also because I'm on heavy pain meds and can't drive until I'm off them. Also means I'll probably not get to see Fantastic Beasts with my HP group tomorrow, and I bought my ticket ages ago. Very bummed about that.
But I got to watch three episodes of SPN Season 8 this morning in the hospital though. So that was nice. Definitely cool to have a private room!

Date: 2016-11-17 02:42 pm (UTC)Sorry your Fantastic Beasts plans might get canceled. :( That's no fun. As of right now, I hadn't made any plans to go see it -- what the hell, November? why are you going by so quickly? -- so if you need a movie buddy when you're feeling up to it, I'd go see it with you!
Glad you had some SPN to keep you company! Take care and get lots of rest.

Date: 2016-11-17 12:45 am (UTC)Sounds like they're doing it, only far less efficiently. :)
Feel better soon. It's good they got this in time, and hopefully it'll cure some of the existing pain you've had down there.

Date: 2016-11-17 03:57 pm (UTC)I'm feeling better today after finally getting about 8 hours of nonstop sleep (impossible to sleep in hospital when they came in to check my vitals every 3-4 hours and it took an hour for pain meds to kick in each time). But having a private room and the ability to watch SPN in the morning during breakfast definitely made for a happy situation. And I have to sleep sitting up because lying down hurts and getting up from lying down position HURTS but I was actually able to get comfortable with my own pillows and blankets last night, so am feeling a lot better now.
