Irony?

Here's some (I think) irony. I've been on allergy medication since I was, like, 12. Partly because of seasonal allergies and partyly because I love pets and want to have them. So I've taken medicine so I can have cats. Now, after 6 years worth of allergy shots as well, I'm no longer allergic to cats! But I still have to take medicine daily because of dust and molds and trees and grasses and dogs.

But the funny thing is, now my Charilie cat's going to get to take the exact same medicine every day for her allergies. I get one pill a day, she takes half a pill a day. Nice that I already have the medication in the house and don't have to make another trip to the store to buy something new.

Charlie's bloodwork came back. Her white blood cells were up indicating she has allergies (which I already knew, because her snorting gets worse in the spring and she had a terrible reaction when I brought home cinnamon pinecones once). It also indicated she had a chronic infection, which also wasn't much of a surprise. I get to keep her on the sticky cherry antibiotics for another 4 weeks at least in an attempt to kill it off. It's still possible (and likely) the infection was brought on/aggrivated by a polyp. So the $4,000-$8,000 surgery might still be in her future.

BUT today she had huge stretches of the day and evening when she could actually breathe. I was so happy I cried. Since Saturday I have been like a parent who sneaks into a kid's bedroom to make sure of its breathing, only in my case I'd just track my cat down every hour or two and listen to her breathe. It was so wonderful when she started breathing normally again today. Here's hoping that continues and that these antibiotics don't come with the horrible side effects that the last one did. It took her over a week to recover after getting off those ones and then the breathing problems came back again anyway. I've definitely got my fingers crossed, but she's certainly sounding better and acting like she's feeling better too. YAY!

Okay. I'm off to bed. I think I'm going to drive in to work tomorrow. I'm not scheduled to... but I think I have to. I really want to get this printer set up. I also want to search for a box of mine in the storage room. I couldn't seem to find it the other day and thought maybe I was misremembering, but then I checked my photos and, no, it was definitely in one of them. So now I'm on a mission to find it.
