Progress Updates!
Oct. 20th, 2017 10:12 pmThis morning during breakfast, i finally decided which prompts I'm going to write for my hurt/comfort bingo card. I'm going to do two parallel diagonal lines that are comprised of 6 prompts in total. I love all my prompts and am sad I couldn't make a line work with allergic reaction. If I have time, perhaps in the amnesty period, I'd like to write them all. But, for now, I decided to just try for a single bingo and then I'll do more when I can. So on Monday I started writing a fic for one of the prompts and tonight I finished it and started another fill. I'm hoping to get as many done this week as possible because once November starts, I want to write for NaNo. And in December, I'll be writing giftfics. So it's now or never! Six short stories... that's doable though, right?
I got to the end of Supernatural Season 11 today. Lots of feels. Those moments with God... that was fantastic. And season 11 had a lot of really good one-off episodes as well. Looking forward to starting season 12! I've got roughly a week and a half of time (not including the business trip I have to take for work) where I can watch episodes before I go to the Supernatural convention, so I need to get caught up! But, because of this, I can't watch Stranger Things this weekend! No Stranger Things until Supernatural is done!
I finished my Popsugar Reading Challenge this week! A whole year's worth of books--52 prompts--all completed! I am super proud of this. I even made a pretty color-coded by month page. Today I finished earreading Ready Player One. I LOVED Wil Wheaton reading it. I loved the plot and the world. I LOVED that there were MULTIPLE Highlander references. I knew it was heavy on video games, but I didn't know about all the other pop culture references, so that was a wonderful surprise. Reciting lines of Monty Python and the Holy Grail from memory along with Wil Wheaton was definitely the highlight of my morning.
So I'm making good progress in life. A little less progress on the cleaning the house front. But I'm hoping to change that this weekend. Of course, every time I say something like that, a migraine hits or something. And I seem to have busted my knee, so I'm hoping it holds out. We'll see. Writing and cleaning and watching Supernatural. That's my plan. Hope it pans out.
Oh, and I started Turtles All the Way Down. Loving it so far, of course, but I'm only on chapter 5 or 6.
Also, no one here cares, but if you like Person of Interest, I read the BEST fic today. It was in this week's edition of the Rec Center. It's called A Field Guide to Common Birds in New York City by Toft, and the story is just spot-on in character and delightful. John joins Tumblr and it's the worst thing ever but he still manages a blog about BORBS and he's in love with Finch but won't admit it and then gets a therapist which is very so much good for him and they save people and are devoted to each other with so much patience and kindness and consideration for eachother that it just fills my heart with so many warm fuzzies. And also birds. And borbs. Which is a thing. And birbs. But mostly borbs. And it's adorable. With feathers.
