tarotgalOh! I also started planning my Orlando vacation. I have rooms booked and possibly some plans on how to get from my resort to the theme parks. The part that is going to be hardest will be figuring out what days I'll be at Universal and which ones at Disney. I've never seen anything outside of the Magic Kingdom, and I REALLY want to see all the new Star Wars stuff. Basically, right now, I'm just making a list of the things I HAVE to do/see (do you have recommendations? I need recommendations now!).
I want to try to get to the LEGO store in what used to be Downtown Disney. I have to spend at least two days in Diagon Alley, because I haven't been to the second half of that (only the Hogsmede side of things), which means I need to buy one of those park wands so I can do the spells and all as well. I've never been to Epcot either. And how much would I love a photo of me with Eeyore? So, yeah. It's going to take some planning. I've only got 4 nights and 5 days total, and some of that is going to obviously involve travel. But I'm super excited to get to have a me vacation. I love spending time doing fun things on my own, not having to do things other people want, being able to go at my own pace and be as geeky as I want without apologizing to anyone about it or boring anyone with it. So I'm nervous because I've no idea how I'm going to get all this done AND sit through a 2 hour time share lecture AND recover from the exhaustion of a conference. And I'm nervous because I"m always nervous about the details of trips (I'm literally google mapping sidewalks at this point because I'm anxious about what to do and where to go). But I'm also SUPER excited to get to have a fantastic vacation just for me. I'll have a good chunk of change in my convention bank account I'll be spending for this, but it's not anywhere near as much as I had for my UK trip. So I am going to have to be thrity and smart about things as well. LUCKILY, my coworker stayed in this hotel for a week a couple years ago and has already given me the scoop regarding a nearby grocery store. So I'm already feeling better about being able to find things I can afford to eat! YAY!
