Party of Five and Life Ramblings
Jan. 20th, 2018 09:23 pmJust watched the Thanksgiving episode of Party of Five, season 1. I vaguely remember watching it back in 1994. Am pretty sure I cried more this time around. Especially at Charlie's scene.
I just heard someone's doing a reboot of the show. Am not sure how I feel about that, though putting in a deportation plotline would be an interesting twist.
Last night I spent the whole evening watching one of Critical Role's one-shots (Hearthstone). It was 4 hours long. Then I went to bed and watched news coverage until about 1 and had the news on well past 5 am. Not sure why I was so surprised to be so tired this morning when I tried to get up at 7, but I was. I've been having LOTS of trouble getting out of bed in the mornings. I really need something motivating to get me up in the mornings again. Yuri on Ice was SO good for that. And, for a while, the incentive of getting a lot done before work was good for that. But that didn't last long.
The new dietary choices that were so shockingly thrust upon me last week aren't helping with the fatigue yet. But I'm already starting to lose weight. I'm down 2.6 pounds in a little over a week. Now I just need to get back to working out regularly.
I watched Wayward Sisters this week. Loved it. For a backdoor pilot, I definitely enjoyed it. I know some places have been ripping it apart, but I hope it gets the green light! The cast is fantastic, and it would be fantastic to have a whole group of strong women in the SPN world who don't get killed off just because of their proximity to the WInchesters. It would be a refreshing change and a good show on top of that. In Jody Mills I trust!
My ice maker's been broken. I tried a whole bunch of things today, and it's possibly fixed? I JUST heard an ice cube! Which is YAY! I was worried I'd have to call a repairman. But I think it's going to be okay. Might take some time to fill that whole thing with ice again now that it's emptied. But at least it's working. I really don't have the money for more repairs right now.
I am going to take Charlie cat in for allergy testing on Wednesday, which is $300. I am not sure her problem with moist food is an allergy, but I guess we'll see. She's not going to be happy with me at all. She's got to be locked in my bedroom for 12 hours with no food before the test. Which means I'm not getting any sleep at all Tuesday night! It also means my parents had to come over today to fix my bedroom door that won't close. And they're coming back again tomorrow to finish the job; apparently whatever brilliant person put doors in my house did so with the parts of the doorknob not lining up. So two doors in my house just can't close properly. Finally fixing it. Better late than never.
I went to a BookCrossing meetup today. Was lovely to see the folks, even though I started to feel a little overwhelmed when one of them was talking about the several million dollars he has. Um, I'm trying to live on $150-$200 a week at the moment. Luckily, so far in 2018, I'm 3 for 3 weeks in sticking to my budget! I even got half my lunch for free today because I had a Panera reward. And I parked at the Metro so I wouldn't have to pay for the parking garage. It was only 2 blocks away and I was glad for the extra steps. I'm on my way to Mordor in my step tracking! Less than 80 miles left!
I finally got around to updating my 101 Things in 1001 Days project yesterday. I haven't been making much progress since I took an unscheduled leave from swap-bot. That monthly swap really kept me on track. But I'm still looking at around 90 completed this year. 86 was the number to beat from last time around, so I'm still on target for that as long as I can fit some important things into my busy spring schedule.
I'm having friends over on Saturday to watch Harry Potter movies. So my house has to be clean! I got a lot done last week, but I'm nowhere near ready yet. Luckily, I have all day tomorrow. And I've got a few hours left tonight!
So off I go to clean some more!
