Another obs & Queer TV
Jul. 29th, 2003 11:25 pmA bunch of things!!
OK, so a nice observation this morning when I was coming out of my morning meeting. I was crossing the street and coming the other way across was a guy. About 5ft 5inches... blond spikey hair, green shirt, tan shorts... I think. He sneezed VERY nicely. A perfect volumed "Kah-cheshhhhh!" Not too wet, but nice and full and YUMMY! ANd I give him points on style, too! He bent forward, hand flat in front of his face to cover his nose and mouth. He sniffed and straightened up with an "Excuse me!" I didn't bless him, though I was close enough that I should have, but I just don't feel comfy doing that. Plus I was still flipping over the sound. I probably would have only managed a squeak had I tried to say anything! LOL It was VERY cute!
Bravo is quickly becomming a favorite of mine. LOL! I watched Queer Eye again tonight (episode 4) Oh my GOSH! They were helping the guy set up for the perfect proposal and he got overwhelmed and started crying!! He could barely thank them he was holding back the tears!!! And the proposal was SO sweet!!! Awwww! If I ever ask to get married, I want it to be that well thought out, I'm telling you! Even if it takes 6 guys to plan it, I want it to be romantic and adorable and well thought out!
I also watched Boy Meets Boy, which I was planning to hate. I don't think the concept is really fair. I mean, you fall in love with someone based on their looks and personality and goals and values... love doesn't take into account sexual preference. So I don't think it's really fair to give a guy 15 potential mates and some of them be straight. But I actually found myself liking it. It's much nicer because the guys aren't faking for nothing- the point to them is to get money. And the grand prize isn't like a proposal or anything, it's a trip for them to New Zealand. So even if the guy he picks to be his best match is straight, well, at least he could have fun with the guy on the trip as a friend, right? It's not like a marriage proposal or something. *shrug* Anyway, the guys were nice. And the main guy is ADORABLE! I like his friend, too. He seems very nice and indecisive and doesn't want to hurt anyone... like me :-)
ANd the concept is interesting because it's the first time that the contestants are actually in a position to find each other desierable. One guy was like "I have a better chance with some of the other guys than I do with the leading man" LOL! Very interesting concept!!! LOL!
Anyway... guy just came to my door... it's 11:30pm here. He got locked out of his apartment (in my boyfriend's building, not mine) and needed the number. He knocked and I got spooked and didn't open the door right away. I was like "one minute" because I didn't have any pants on. And I didn't invite him in but helped him out. I felt SO badly for him! But he had a friend with a cell phone and they called the emergency number, and I told him if he needed another num to come back. I felt bad for the delay in opening the door, though. But still, I'm not going to let two strange guys into my place in the middle of the night. Not when I live alone :-) Poor guy! Locked out at this time of night! Everyone in my building goes to bed at insanely early hours... I don't know what their problems are! LOL! So my guess is that I was the only one with a light on. Anyway. Glad I could help out. Glad I had the info at hand. And glad they didn't just con me into raping me or something. :-)

Date: 2003-07-30 06:02 am (UTC)Totally unrelated to sneezing, I stumbled across a site that you simply MUST see, tarotgal, what with your thing for hockey players. This is some of the best photoshopping I've ever seen done...I never would have imagined elves and hobbits playing hockey, much less dwarves and wizards, but these pics are awesome!
http://www.geocities.com/sotto-voce/caribou.html
The site treats them like a real team, complete with roster, coach, game schedule, and post-game news coverage. There's also a bit of background info on how such a strange concept came to be in the first place. You simply have to see this to believe it!

Date: 2003-07-30 06:45 am (UTC)Reality TV and Fab 5
Date: 2003-07-30 07:11 am (UTC)I do like watching reality TV because it lets me observe different sorts of people and learn about them, see how they interact. That's like candy to me as a writer! *G* But again, even I have my limits :-)
Queer Eye's NBC show was okay... it was much too short. The longer 1 hour version of that episode was SOOOO much better. Much more in depth, much more instruction/learning, and much more of the gallery opening. I didn't like some of the things they cut out of it to make it half an hour. But you are right, it's a much nicer concept than most out there. And the guys are a LOT of fun! :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!! The Fab 5 are very impressive. Not to mention that the show has a fantastically HUGE budget! I'm just astounded at the furniture and clothes and food they buy! I mean, second episode had them spending about $200 on food for one night! Ack! That's, like, half my paycheck! LOL! I almost wish I was a straight guy so that they'd come over and redo my place! heehee! Anyway, glad you liked it!!! *happy bounces*
