A writing night
Jul. 31st, 2003 02:10 amMy internet keeps going in and out. VERY frustrating! Grrr!
I decided, after several days of constant hard work, that tonight's just going to be a writing night. I watched Highlander episode 'Timeless' earlier today, so maybe that's what inspired it. It's an ep about how true artists need mortality to be truly brilliant. And about how Methos hits on Alexa and finally gets her to take a trip around the world with him. Man. Lucky duck. Apart from the whole dying within a year thing. Makes for some GREAT tears and angst from the guy later though. One of the best scenes in the series (not a lot of hurt/comfort from immortals who heal instantly and can't die...)
Anyway... it's a writing night. But I PROMISE to get to betaing your fic first thing tomorrow, Hermione! I gave it a quick read through today, but I'm not exactly in the editing mindset. And I'm trying to work with a deadline here. So I promise, tomorrow afternoon you'll get it back. Not a problem. And sorry for the delay.
Oohhh just read a lovely pre-slash Remus/Sirius fic called 'Magic Words'. Wow. LOVELY characterization of Remus. And I actually LIKED Peter- and that's hard to get me to do! I'm trying to write a Peter!Slut story and it's NOT been going so well. LOL. It's supposed to be amusing, but it's just sad right now. LOL. Anyway, 'Magic Words'- characters are really nicely done- I was impressed. And to my utter astonishment, Sirius gets sick at the end of the story *G* And Remus gets all "Back to bed" Awwwwww! Totally sold me on it. Twas a nice surprise :-) Not to mention, no story is complete without reference to a Lemon Zester. It had it all, I tell you! heehee!

Date: 2003-07-31 10:33 am (UTC)Actually, I've got ethernet in my apartment... so it's just as fast as though I were on campus, though it's not using the crouded campus routers so technically it's even faster *G* I'm one of the lucky off campus people who doesn't have to worry about the horrible cable/dsl struggles in my area (basically, you can have low price or high quality but not both). And actually, ethernet was one of the 2 main reasons I chose to live where I do! Am I a geek or what? It goes down for maybe an hour every two weeks, on average. At random times... it's very disconcerting. Suddenly you're connected, then you're not! As I never turn off my computer and my mail program checks mail every minute, it's noticible if I happen to be in front of the comp when it happens!
I'm trying to finish off a fic before I go to bed right now. But when I wake up, I'll work on your story- I promise! :-) Thanks for being so patient. I totally understand how hard it is to wait to get a fic back (one of the reasons I hardly ever get my stuff betaed! lol)

Date: 2003-07-31 11:25 am (UTC)Basically, just make sure the room looks as good as when you moved in, and you'll pass, no problem.
As for the test- no worries, really. You know the stuff, even if the questions suck. I've taken LOADS of tests like that. Just go in remminding yourself that no matter what, you DO know the info and I'm sure you'll be able to prove that well enough to do well. Weird tests aren't a fair assesment of your knowledge, but if you're convinced you know it regardless you might find you'll do better than you think :-)
