Oh my gosh... I know I've said this probably a dozen times already but I am getting SO much out of HP1 now that I've read through 5. LOL!

About Snape marking Harry during their first year: "Snape was so horrible to Harry. Could Snape possibly know they'd found out about the Sorcerer's Stone? Harry didn't see how he could-- yet sometimes had the horrible feeling that Snape could read minds."
Well now... if he's that skilled in Occlumency who's to say he's not just as skilled in Legilimency? He certainly uses it enough on Harry in the fifth book... why not a little bit in the first?

And now I'm wondering the whole time how very much of Harry's adventures Dumbledore is not only is aware of, being able to make himself invisible and all, but possibly even in control of to some extent- pushing Harry on somehow mentally- the dreams, the emotions, the desires, etc. I have such terrible feelings about the ending of the fifth book- what if Dumbledore had been there for a lot longer than just at the end? Grrr... I really don't know what to make of that man.

Now I really want to read HP5 again! I want my friend to hurry up and return it already. But then it's been claimed by another friend, so I might even download it before I get a chance to read it again. I think I missed a lot of points, in my first reading... or maybe I'm just not as familiar with the books as everyone is,to be making all these links and connections?

Six pages!? Wow. ::bounce:: I'm uber happy because I've never read a Neville sneezefic and have always wanted one and you read one of mine once and liked it but you just rock as a fic writer that way and I can almost pretend you're writing it on request because I wanted one and mentioned something and you're writing one and wow I'm typing quickly, what am I doing up at two thirty in the morning? Since the end of GoF, I have had worries about Dumbledore. I was MOST upset by the gleam in his eye that Harry noticed when he was telling D. about Voldemort now being able to touch him. It was most out of character, even though in the next instant, D. returned to his usual self.

Of course, During OotP, I was frustrated to death over Dumbledore's lack of communication with Harry - and his stupidity in making Snape do the Occlumency tutoring. I did return to my sound faith in Dumbledore after the battle in the MOM. The way D., Fawkes and the fountain people fought together against Voldemort and the quiet but furious calm with which D. acted - those are true Dumbledore characteristics. I could understand completely what D. was saying to Harry afterward - I knew the problem long before D. admitted it - that he simply loves Harry too much. He did what he thought was best at the time - and probably it was for the best, given the way Harry felt like attacking D. when they did make eye contact - I believe D. was right to limit that at all costs. Dumbledore knows too much - he knows everything, actually - to risk letting Voldemort get into his mind through Harry.

Snape now is another story. When I finished the book, with all its pain - I wanted to blame some character for this, and I lit upon Snape. After all, if he hadn't had that trmeondous temper tantrum (all over a childhod memory) and thrown Harry out of Occlumency tutoring, then Harry would have possibly been able to resist Voldemort and none of the terrible things that happend would have happened! And even when Snape was teaching, he wasn't really HELPING Harry, he was just attacking him and then getting mad when Harry couldn't defend himself properly. Lupin and Black both stated that tutoring Harry in Occlumency was of the utmost importance and Snape had to know that too. Since we don't know what else Snape might have been doing for the Order, that was the one sure thing he was to do, and the task was even given to him by Dumbledore himself, and Snape simply gave up all because of a temper tantrum. That made me mad!

I'm certain you are right about Snape using Legilimency on Harry during the earlier books. What exactly are you worried Dumbledore has heard there from Harry before he (D.) is able to safely reappear?
