Apparently, Star Wars success drove him to drink. Oh, the POOR guy. I can totally understand, though. He was in so many smaller, INCREDIBLE movies... never hollywood and never really wanted to be so. Like that time some paparazi(sp?) took pictures of his father and him at the pool/beach and some of the pictures were him changing into a bathing suit beneath a towel. Oh come ON! ICK!! Who wants the kind of fame where people hide in the bushes and take pictures of you changing clothes? Or of you enjoying time with your family? And he does have two little ones to look after and worry about.
One of the things that impresses me the most about that boy is how he chose projects that were fantastic and NOT because of the studio. Ohhhh... like The Pillow Book!
Poor guy! At least he's feeling better now... and this does explain some of the interviews I saw him in...
Oddly enough (after watching The Tonight Show's make-over by the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy guys) talk shows have a cart that goes to the guest stars' dressing rooms to get them liquored up before the interview. Wow. That explains a LOT too!
Anyway... glad Ewan is better... but MAN... poor guy! I'm almost glad he didn't get the part of Remus Lupin after reading this. That would have been a hell of a huge thing. Aww... my poor Ewan...
