Another sneezing project
Aug. 27th, 2003 07:21 amMaybe it's because I'm half asleep... but I think I finally made a decision about a project I've been mulling over for a while...
My idea was to create another LJ for a character- centered around this particular character's sneezing and such. I spent about a week thinking this over, trying to come up with a wonderful character I wanted to keep up with and who would sneeze enough to make it worth it. While I came up with a few ideas (including the good ol' typical dorky scientist and the school teacher-type and the nice Scottish artist who's prone to colds) nothing really stuck. When I write stories I usually see characters and situations and build around them... I don't usually start with an idea and build a character around that.
So it occurred to me tonight that I might like to try one with Tala. And if people are sick of him, they don't have to read it :-) But that would allow me to expand his character nicely(and possibly get him out of the Harry-Sue category), and also get Obi and Qui (and maybe even Ani) in there from time to time. He's supposed to be a writer, so what better thing to have him do than keep a journal? And with the number of patients he has, etc. it would make for a nice constant flow of colds and allergies and other ailments. I've actually been considering writing a "in a doctor's waiting room" kind of fic and this would be similar but with more depth. If people felt like replying to the entries as random characters (or even as Obi, Qui, etc.) they would certainly be welcome to play along. I don't do a hell of a lot of role-playing and I've never done any LJ-style though I've followed a number of Harry Potter role-playing communities on LJ/blurty. Not that this would have to be a collection of LJ but it could be if other people wanted to play other characters.
What do people think? Am I really too tired and shouldn't have suggested it? Or would people even read it if I tried it? That was what I was worried about in the first place. Losing interest. With a normal character it could be months in between colds/allergy seasons. But as he's a healer he'd have a lot more exposure in that yummy world.
