But ooooohhhhh SO tempting!
And it's not like I don't know what's going to happen in general of course(hears heavy breathing approaching).... but oohh it's so tempting to read!

But I know what happens in Return of the King... and in the Harry Potter movies... I should at least let the last movie in one of my fandoms be of some surprise to me plot-wise... right?

Oohhh but new pics of my Obi... so tempting...

Technically, we know most of what will happen in Episode III as well...I mean, certain events have to happen to avoid completely invalidating Eps IV, V, and VI.

-Anakin has to become Vader (as a result of a fight between he and Obi-Wan)
-All the other Jedi have to die but Yoda
-Padme has to give birth to Luke and Leia
-Count Dooku (still the worst sci-fi name ever *shudders*)has to bite it so Vader can be Palpatine's right hand man
-Obi-Wan has to wind up a hermit on Tatooine
-Artoo and Threepio have to end up in the service of Bail Organa or someone connected to him, hopefully with their memories wiped so as to get rid of lots of horrible plot holes created by the prequels.

Not all of these things need take place actually during Ep III, but these events are the only ones I can think of that really matter. Even so, Ep III will seem like such a huge anticlimax after the sheer power and movie brilliance of ROTK, IMHO.

And sure, it can be argued that we don't know exactly *how* those things will happen, but then again, I don't know how certain things in ROTK will happen either. Case in point:

The Paths of the Dead scene has been radically altered from the book based on what I saw in the preview. I'm simply dying to know what kinds of cool, scary things will happen to my favorite Three Hunters in that dark tunnel lined with human skulls. Also, I'm totally psyched to see Legolas's new cool tricks that have been promised us, on par with his sweet horse mounting scene from TTT! I'm trying hard to not spoil myself for it too badly...

Yeah... like I said, it's not like I don't know what's going to happen in Episode III... but I still want it to be a surprise. I've come up with at least 4 or 5 different ways these things can happen... I just don't want details as to which one of my gueses might be closest. But oohhh tempting!

As for Count Dooku... I hope he sticks around a little while longer because I think it's irresistably sexy the way Obi-Wan says his name *G*

I am certainly looking forward to RotK, especially for the little bits and details and such. Which I suppose I have to look forward to since I know what happens. But each one is so different for me... I'm looking forward to the "finality" RotK brings to the epic.... and looking forward to being really scared and depressed at the end of EpIII :-)

You know, I've never seen Star Wars? I just got thoroughly told off by a friend when I admitted that to him. He's telling me I need to go get the videos NOW. So that's why I've never read any of your Star Wars fics, and why I'm not really excited about Ep3. *l* I think I do need to go see it, one of these days.

I am SO excited about RotK, though!! *bounces* *l* I can't wait!!! HP3 not as much so, mainly because of all the things you pointed out in your entries.

And - guess what?! *l* They're showing 'Queer As Folk' here! I didn't think we'd get it, because I don't have cable, but they are! And I think they've been showing it for awhile, actually, and I never noticed, but I'm going to try watch it on Monday night!

Ug... now I feel horribly guilty for bitching about HP3! I'm sure it will be good... maybe not my vision... but I'm sure it will be good :-) There's supposed to be at least the one Quidditch game in the rain scene... so that's a happy thought!

As for Star Wars, well, everyone's got their fandoms. There are certainly a number of movies I have never seen. I only saw the Godfather saga something like 2 years ago. But the great thing is, it's never too late to pick up a movie/set of movies and enjoy them. And Star Wars is such the classic hero's journey... it's really hard to watch it and not love it for at least some reason :-)
And Jack O'Neill on Stargate SG-1 has never seen it either, and he travells through space for his job... so I think we can excuse you heehee!

As for QAF- WOW!!! That's fantastic!!! I've never seen it on tv myself! So you'd be one-upping me already! :-) I'd be interested to see whether it's the US or the UK version shown down there.
And if you give me the plot of the episode I can tell you how far along they are and briefly fill you in if you like.
