Ahh... nothing like a stint at home to make me avoid socializing with parents and sister and getting asked the "When are you going to finish your thesis and what are you doing afterwards?" questions by watching lots of movies and tv shows *G*

100-grand episode of Trading Spaces- It was fun to watch... and I was in awe of how expensive some things were! I don't think I own furniture that's more than $100... unless my computer counts. All the while I kept wondering why these people were so special as to get SO much given to them- SO much money... the entertainment packages, etc. And I kept thinking "why couldn't they do this for poor people? Visit Habitat for Humanity houses and give them Sony plasma tvs and computers... much better use" But ah well. Was a good episode

K-Street- I think I'm too stupid to watch this show. Saw two episodes. I understood a lot of it, but parts like the endings just... what? I don't understand. It's a great concept, though. And it's neat seeing so much from DC and all since I grew up outside of it. I think I'm just too stupid. And I want to punch half the republicans while I watch, so that's not lots of fun.

Carnivale- WHOA! Now THIS I liked!!! Ben's a VERY interesting character! In fact, I like all the characters *snuggles poor Jonesey* And the girl who plays Sophie I think was the love interest in But I'm a Cheerleader, so that's neat. Anyway, I'm dying to see when the darn plot lines intersect... and the preist, oh, I feel so badly for him... what an interesting guy there, too. Man... VERY weird show but very cool. I'd almost drive home every weekend just to watch it! :-)

Thirteen Ghosts- Awwwwww Tony :-) VERY cool concept (reminded me of that Hypercube movie, only with a plot and ghosts and a family). I was freaked out (in a good way) by the ghosts... and I love Tony. Some of his humor for Monk showed through a lot in his character there. I liked it. Watched it twice. Not on the top 20 favorites list by ANY means, but a nice enjoyable watch. And a neat concept. Wish there had been more screen time with each of the ghosts- backstories, if you will. That would have made it a lot better IMHO.

Murial's Wedding- Abba!!!! LMAO! We rented this as Mom wanted me to see it. She's watched it 5 times now LOL! It's TOO good. And lots of fun Abba songs. I'm going to make her watch Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert on my next trip up to complete the circle of Australian movies with Abba songs in them. Anyway... I really loved it... poor Murial!

Lord of the Rings- my father, having bought both movies on DVD, had never seen either. So I watched both with him. He fell asleep through much of The Two Towers *frustrated sigh* but he thought they were both beautiful and he woke up in time for the elves' arrival to Helm's Deep (which I reminded him wasn't exactly in the books *G*) And I must say, both movies looks SPECTACULAR on my parents' high-definition big-screen tv. I have a 13 inch tv and a 19 inch monitor. I saw things I'd never seen before in the movies even after watching them many times. I think I need a new tv. One day. When I have a job. And money.

Blair Witch- My father had never seen this either, so we rented it. He wasn't very scared. I wasn't scared until the last scene. Then I was freaked again. I remember seeing it in theaters... there were 5 people total in the whole place and it was damn cold. I was shaking with terror when I got out. This time... not really so much. But was still tense at the end.

Watched a bunch of other things... but those are the note-worthy ones. Sadly, I didn't get to see Angel... though I think it might be better to start from the beginning of the series. I did see most of my regulars, though... and ARG! Survivor... that poor losing tribe! LMAO! I so enjoy watching them get their butts kicked, but it's sad to see the good members get voted out. Ah well.

OK... I go cross my fingers that they'll have my movies out tonight on DVD so I can buy them *G* I want to watch Down with Love tonight SO badly... think I might clean up my Chronicles of Narnia fic then nap a bit before Walmart run. Ahhhhh! Sooooo nice to be home!
