I watched ER tonight... remembering both why I love the show so much and why I stopped watching it. Not that my reasons for not watching have much to do with the content of the show- I adore all the characters and the plot lines are fabulous. And the newbies... LOL! And Romano- oh, it breaks my heart! And Abby... awww :-( It's like a soap opera with the characters and yet feels completely realistic. I just... can't deal with the throwing up. I had to leave the room for 5 minutes to calm down after that bit. LOL I'm pathetic, but I panic easily these days and I *really* didn't need that tonight.
Plus, my sister had a double strain of malaria and nearly died from it. So that particular story line hits home with me BIGTIME. I was only in the third grade, but I remember spending a few nights sleeping in waiting rooms and visiting after school. She was in the hospital for something like 2 months in all. Thank gods she was so young that she doesn't remember that now.
Anyhoo...
I simply melted when nurse chica felt Luka's forehead for fever, pushing/flipping his bangs like that. Oohhhh that always makes me melt bigtime. And with a guy that cute *dissolves into a happy puddle*
I'm glad Luka's feeling better, though. He looks sick, still, but he's alive, so that's certainly an improvement *G* CUTE pale, sick, feverish Luka. I'd be MORE than willing to fill in for his private nurse (on all levels)

Date: 2003-10-10 06:08 am (UTC)I just saw it, omg poor Romano! Luca is adorable, and i love that new dude with the asthma, he's so cute! Corday got skanky..hehe. Poor Romano, he's so sad, you know i think that for the season finale, they may have Romano kill himself. Think about it, he's so upset, his life was his work, and now he doesn't even have that! Liz doesn't know he's alive, (you know, in that way) so what else is there? I think that may be a possibility. Oooo well, who knows right?
That new Dr. from London is really cool, she's the girl from Bend It Like Beckham, right? Ohh speaking of cool people from Bend it Like Beckham, i love John Rhys Meyers, sigh. From Vg and Bend it. He's so cute!!!! Wow how random is this. Sorry for the insanity. lol.

Date: 2003-10-10 06:39 am (UTC)Romano- I used to hate the guy. I think everyone hated him at one time or another. But even before the helicopter I started liking him. And now... ohhhhh... the poor guy!! I can see the suiside thing... though he has a LOT of respect for life and fought hard to stay alive after the accident- it's hard to imagine him throwing it away, even in anger. But you hit the nail on the head- his life is being a surgeon. It's his passion. And he was FANTASTIC at it, even if he was an asshole. If he can't do it anymore... I can see how he wouldn't feel he had anything to live for. (Especially where ELizabeth is concerned)
The new guy with asthma- Coop? LOL I hate him for standing up to Robert- poor Romano did NOT need that just then! But the "too much" thing was hilarious. I always find the newbies hilarious. Michael Crichton's book A Case of Need (which he wrote because of his medical background, which ER came from as well) has the most ADORABLE scene at the end with the main character(a doctor) being brought into the ER and having a slightly less experienced guy trying to fix him.
Actually... I always feel like re-reading A Case of Need every time I watch ER... though it's probably just because of the beginning of that one chapter where the doctor has a head cold and talks all cute and stuffed up *blush* I'm hopeless!

I haven't seen Bend it Like Beckham... though I want to. And yes, it's the same girl- and I like her, too. Even if she does need a little more self confidence and, er, common sense. I've only seen Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in VG and Michael Collins... though I don't think Michael Collins counts... though he did have an important albeit minor role. But he is very cute! :-)
