Had a nice day... wrote a little... finished watching the X series *sob*... went out with a friend and saw a play called The Swan... am completely confused by the play, but enjoyed it a lot... making microwave lazagna(sp?) now and going to write some more. I'm SO digging this Sirius/Remus story *snuggles them to bits*
Most of my stories are my favorites while I write them... and many I end up reading and rereading a few times... but I think this one's going to be one I read many times over. I hope. I'm really enjoying it at any rate. Certainly more than I enjoyed The Swan. Hrm. I'm just confused by that play. it was BEAUTIFUL!!! But... I'm not entirely sure what the milkman symbolized.I'm thinking he represented a constant/repetitive presence of the possibility of love and security that the main character desired... but I'm just confused... gah... I hate not understanding art. There's got to be a point to it... I just... don't know what it is.......

Date: 2003-10-12 06:32 pm (UTC)As for X... My two favorite characters died near/at the end, so yeah, was a bit of a downer. But it was a HECK of a lot more positive than I thought it would be. I was smiling at the end, which I rarely do when characters die. I really enjoyed it... lots of pretty men, gorgeous art, that classic good vs. evil when it's all in the gray. I've never seen the movie (because I heard it wasn't worth it comparitively) but if it doesn't fit with the characters as well as the tv version, I now won't even bother then.
*sigh* But I really wanted Kamui to survive... it's terrible, I know... but I really wanted to write some post-Fuma/Kamui fic

Date: 2003-10-12 07:09 pm (UTC)Caught it when I went over to the list this morning. So very sweet! Gave me all kinds of warmfuzzies. ^_^ Hovering!Sirius is just adorable! (Why can't there be real men like that?)
As for X...
I do see why they decided to end the series the way they did. I really couldn't think of one that would work any better given the way the story goes. Supposedly there are going to be three different endings: one for the movie, one for the anime, and one for the manga. The manga is still ongoing, so there could potentially be the opportunity for post-Fuuma/Kamui fic...But the movie? The characters were a lot more stiff, and Fuuma goes on a killing spree and gets rid of most of the ones that hadn't died already by that point, and then he and Kamui have their last battle at Tokyo Tower (when I finally get there I'm going to be extremely wierded out, I think) and Kamui cuts off Fuuma's head. My biggest impression the first time I saw the movie was that Seki Tomokazu cries really well when he's doing serious crying (not like Shuichi from Gravi). I guess that's saying something given that it's X. They tried to cram the entire series in to less than two hours so everything is way too rushed. You get to meet the Seals, and you get a few glimpses of the Angels other than Fuuma, but that's about it.

Oh, I know! I'd be first in line for one :-)
I thought maybe it was a little over-the-top for him... but for a guy who's used to feeling helpless when his lover's hurting after/during a transformation, I can see him being quite the obsessive caregiver when given the chance. Plus, well, he's perfectly set to play fetch.
I actually *bangs head against wall* started a sequel this morning to the story. It's got to contend with a lot of real work for the next two days, but it'll be fun to write when I get the time :-)

Really? Oh, fantastic! Though I'm not getting my hopes up. I was under the impression that the show was much closer to the manga (certainly moreso than the compressed movie) so I'd just assumed that it had finished as well. I'm very... out of the loop. But hope is good!

ACK!!! Okay, so my favorite tv show in the world is about decapitation. But still... ACK! I don't think... nope. I definitely don't like that! Kamui's just too sweet and loves Fuma too much for that! Nope! I'm not watching the movie now! Ug... and though the deaths of the seals were really off balanced compared to the angels, I certainly preferred it that way. Even though I could see where some of the "bad guys" were coming from. But I adore characters to death... I wouldn't want any of these guys glanced over because of time. I love falling in love with characters, then learning their backstories. Though it makes sense for Fuma to be so dark, compared to Kamui... but neither was a perfect angel either way so extreme dark probably isn't the best way to go anyway.

Awwwww! Poor Kamui... champions of the world never have it easy, even when they end up saving the world. Same old story... no real victory without ultimate sacrifice. But even so... I'm MOST glad he doesn't sound like Shuichi in his serious roles. :-) He'll always be Ken to me, no matter what else I see him in. *eyes my unfinished Ken sneezefic*
