I wore my Vampire!Pooh shirt today. It's bright orange with pooh dressed up as a vampire and the word SPOOHKY on the bottom *G* Have I mentioned how much I *adore* vampires? :-) *feels sudden guilt for still not having her first Ronfic finished*
Tomorrow's a big game day for my uni football wise and it's been a MADHOUSE here. So we avoided downtown and went as far away from campus as possible to eat. I got photos developed (I'm a one-hour-photo whore) and twas a nice normal night.
I had a small spiritual celebration, which was nice. Just me and some candles and some memories :-)
Boyfriend and I decided to skip the game tomorrow(not that we were going, but he was going to talegate-sp?) and we're going to drive and hour over to the city to eat at The Olive Garden and watch a Hockey Game. They're having Halloween night at the rink, so should be fun. Even though our Hockey team doesn't usually win. And it's sooooooo slow to watch compared to professional hockey. It's still a lot of fun. More fun than watching our university football team lose BIGTIME.
Went to boyfriend's and watched Young Frankenstein on DVD (a birthday present from me to him this year). Then we went to Walmart and I got the new BNL CD. See? I downloaded a few songs from it off a file-sharing program, then went right out and bought it in stores a day and a half later. That's how downloading free music is actually *good* for the artists!!! I was really actually not going to buy the CD at all, but then I listened to a few of the songs and fell in love. And hey, I support artists when I fall in love with them and their work!
I also bought the WK/Knight Hunters box set today. I'm SO worried about it... I hardly ever buy that kind of thing online but I can't get anything remotely like it here. Well, I think they sell Spirited Away in our Walmart... but I've never seen anything closer to anime than that. I'm really worried it won't have subtitles, though. Under languages it said: English. Then under audio it said: Japanese and English but said nothing about captaions/subtitles. I can't imagine why they *wouldn't* have it... but I can live with it if I find out it doesn't... I can just watch it in English with the horrible dubbing and then in Japanese and try and remember all the lines. They're not exact translations anyway. But yeah... I'm nervous!
I'm going to watch Practical Magic on DVD to wind down from Halloween. And, um, cuz Goran's damn cute *sigh* I love that movie. Such a sweet movie. And sad. But mostly sweet. And did I mention that Goran's damn cute? *G*

Date: 2003-11-02 05:57 am (UTC)Practical Magic- yes, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman(as sisters who are witches, yup) and Diane Wiest and a few really cute men *G* It's one of my feel good movies. I could watch the "Midnight Margaritas" scene forever and still enjoy it I think. And Goran is *so* cute. But I think I mentioned that already :-) It's one of my very favorite chick movies, though :-)

Date: 2003-11-02 06:18 am (UTC)"I---aint got no bowls of hot tea!"
!!!! LOL! Yes, sorry, that is pretty bad. But my sister used to think the song was "Pudding on the Ritz"(as in Ritz crackers) so that's pretty bad, too.

There are some extras... but boyfriend never watches extras, so I don't know what they were. I'll have to steal it from him and watch it some time to see- I'd love to see the bloopers!!

Date: 2003-11-04 12:01 am (UTC)Have you seen any of the English dub? Ken and Omi have great voice actors, Yohji's is passable, and Aya's is about as horrendous as my Saiyuki bootleg. As for Schwartz, I think I was okay with Crawford and hated the rest... I wonder why they can't get American voice actors who are just as good as the Japanese for most dubbed anime...

Date: 2003-11-04 12:47 am (UTC)I bought it from an online store- not eBay. I didn't want to risk getting an illegal bootleg or something after reading so much about how that hurts everybody(it's bad enough I downloaded them for free in the first place) I'm just nervous... anime dvd buying virgin. So thanks much for putting me at ease a bit :-)
I've seen the dubbing outtakes from the series, but that's as much as I've seen for the dubbers and I can't really judge from those as I was laughing through them too much at times. Only thing I recall is that I didn't mind Ken when I heard him, and that 'Persia' was pretty on target with what I expeted. I'll certainly watch both (it'll be nice not to read all the time so I can do work at the same time)
There are *tons* of American voice actors out there... I really don't understand why more don't do anime or why they don't try to match it up better. I suppose budget has a lot to do with it. Is that always done post-production? I don't watch a lot of new series on comedy central to know...
Thanks again!!!
