Went to the city... I drove- my first time driving there... lots of interstate driving- and at night. But I did a great job (read: did not hit anyone) We ate at Ruby Tuesdays as we could not find the Oliver Garden *sob* We think it closed down. We went to Best Buy where I splurged and bought both 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'The Three Amigos' on DVD as they were both less than $10 and on my "Less than $10" list of DVDs I'm allowed to buy :-) I love 'The Three Amigos'. I've seen it at least 30 times... probably more. Just WAY too funny IMHO.
Then we went to the Hockey game- we won 6 to 4! WHOOHOO! It was like watching hockey in slow motion, though. They're a step below the AHL... which is a step below the NHL (which you see on TV) Boyfriend loves it because you can see the puck... I love it because it's like watching kids play... kids who get into a LOT of fights. ANd our guys were CLEARLY the better players. It was 4-1 for a really long time. There were some really good fights, too. And LOTS of guys hugging *G* Yeah. I like hockey. *G*
And best thing... my university WON its football game! The one I was sure they wouldn't win! I was so proud of my guys!!! :-) And we got to listen to the last quarter on the radio on the drive home so we didn't miss out on all the excitement there, either.
I'm going to catch up on all my posting tonight! I'm determined!!! :-) So watch out!!

Date: 2003-11-02 07:41 am (UTC)Yay for hockey! My boys are doing so WELL this season, I'm a very happy Sar shaped thingum. Heh. My dad used to play on one of those Old-Timer's teams, until he hurt his knee. So I grew up with hockey, and I know how slow it is to watch something like that after watching NHL. It's kind of like.. I want to get out there and do SOMETHING! lol. Speed things up. But I'm glad the game was good.
Football I'm not so fond of. I love playing it, but I'm not so keen on watching it. I'm not sure why. But hey, whatever shines your nickel. ;) Sports are good. *nods* And college teams winning are even better, so yey for that.
I've decided that instead of logging out of my normal journal to comment, I'm just going to use this one. I hope you don't mind. Hee. ^^ I'll still be updating my Silverelf with my fetish goodness stuff. But it's just easier to use this one. And Sar is rambling. Fwoosh. lol

Date: 2003-11-02 08:40 am (UTC)Awwww! Go hockey! Every sport in the world is slow to me compared to hockey. Seriously. I can't watch baseball without falling asleep in the first 10 minutes. I don't understand what the fascination is with it. Even slow hockey's better than anything else *G* And congrats that your team is doing well! I'd be so happy to live in Canada where they take hockey results seriously. It barely makes it on television in the states. No respect at all for those fantastic boyos! Very sad. And I support my boys even when they're losing bigtime... like now... whooooooboy.
But football- I can't stand. The attitudes and money problems, the attitudes especially. Ick. I just like when my college team wins because it means our school gets more recognition and money (but mostly recognition- our players really are fantastic and deserve more than they're given at times nation-wide). I NEVER watch their games, though. I used to. Then I was a tutor for a bunch of them. And I couldn't stand seeing them play/get hurt on the field. So I stopped watching. Just isn't exciting to watch after hockey anyway *G*
But watching sports is as close as I get, I'm afraid. I'm the most unathletic chica in the world, I think.
And of course I don't mind what account you post from! I find it hard to switch accounts myself, which is why I never seem to update my other journals. Though if you use this account always I don't as frequently get to see your new adorable icons from Fake *G* Very cute, by the way!!! But of course I don't mind at all. It's all you and it's just nice to year from you! :-)
TG and Sar = long comments :D
Date: 2003-11-02 09:02 am (UTC)I agree with the other sports being slow compaired to hockey. The one sport I HAVE to defend though is soccer, because I'm the biggest footy fan in the city. :D But yeah, I really love being in Canada during hockey season because if we make it into the playoffs everywhere you go, there are signs and banners and flags urging the team on. Last year, when the buses weren't running, the signs would flash 'Sorry not in service -- GO CANUCKS GO!' And it would make me feel all warm and fuzzy because we really love our guys over here. It may border on obsessive and hey, it's steryotypically Canadian, but it's true. We're hockey people. And I LOVE it. And hey, you support your guys even if they're losing. The means you're a real loyal fan, so cheers to you!
Football. Ugh. Seriously, the only thing I can think of that's even appealing about the sport is the parties that revolve around it. LOL Hooray for tailgating! But it's great that your team is doing so well! Props to them! :-) I remember the elation I would feel when my soccar team would win, so I'm happy for them. And if they're getting we diserved money and recognition, then that's even better. I'll be rooting for them ((even though I don't know who they are ;)))
Sports are in my blood. They always have been, and I hope they'll be in my kid's blood. I'm going to have to drag the fiancee to a game one of these days. Hee.
Aww! *hugs* You're so sweet. I'm glad you like hearing from me, because as you can tell I like to talk to you. A lot. LOL So now that I don't have to be worried about the whole fifteen seconds it'll take me to switch accounts ((Hi, I'm athletic but that doesn't mean I'm not lazy)) I'll be commenting more. Be afraid. Be very afraid! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I just sounded like Bart Simpson in my head. That is so WRONG. *whimper*
*flashes icon for you* I have the boys on both my accounts. Hee. I can't abandon them. *strokes her boys lovingly*
Re: TG and Sar = long comments :D
Date: 2003-11-03 12:49 am (UTC)As for accounts- I certainly don't mind at all. I know a lot of people don't want sneeze stuff filtering into their normal accounts so I try and respect that and not post on their journals for others to see me and realize it all- especially if the have separate journals for sneeze-related stuff.
Ed Wood- oh, you're SO right. It really is so good that it's bad. And the directing/creativity that went into making it that way SO fit the terrible movies Ed made (boyfriend and I rented Plan 9 or whatever it's called- oh gods, it really was terrible!!!!)
Johnny does do drag well- and you're right, it's not offputting at all. It just makes the character more endearing, and makes me respect Johnny as an actor MUCH more! I'm beginning to think he could play any character at all convincingly. I loved listening to the 'From Hell' commentary- he's not on it, but the directors and Robbie all talk about him and how fantastic he is at getting into the part- he develops whole back-stories for the character, brings in props he thinks fits them well, really works to learn the part backwards and forwards and helps develop it with the writers and directors. It's really incredible- and I think his hard work shows!
Edward Scissorhands- was the first non-cartoon/non-kiddie movie I ever saw in theaters. I loved it. I was a little scared at times... but I felt so much sympathy for the guy... just wanted to snuggle him all the while. He had such a soft face... and deep, gentle eyes...
But I can understand being scared of him at six, heck yes!! To this day I can't look at Freddy Kruger's picture without feeling a bit of the fear I had from seeing pictures of him as a kid. I probably would have been tramatized for life if I'd had to sit through one of his movies at six!
Soccer- well, I can't get into it, either. There's just too much running back and forth and the field's just so big... but I respect it a LOT more than almost any other sport played in the world. And I think it's fantastic the sort of following it has worldwide. I mean, if baseball went worldwide like that I'd want to throw myself off a bridge or something. But soccer's all right. Just... doesn't thrill me at all the way hockey does, I'm afraid. But I do respect it bigtime.
Hockey- awwwww! See, that's why I want to move to Canada/a hockey town. That's so fantastic!!! In DC no-one has any idea we even have a hockey team. It's all Redskins all the time. We even have stores devoted to just the Redskins. ICK! Bleh! I think NOT! I'd love to see the Capitals get that kind of recognition in DC... but I know it'll probably never happen. *sigh* Poor boys :-(
Football- well, yes, the tailgates aren't bad :-) But I'm not much of a party person so I could live without them :-) Our football team's had some spectacular times in my time here at uni... and we're still good, but not *as* good. So we're constantly comparing ourselves to a few years ago when we were the best of the best. So it's nice to see us surpass our own expectations once in a while.
I'll be rooting for them ((even though I don't know who they are ;)))
Shouldn't be too hard to figure out with the clues I drop *G* LOL
Our score last night was 31-7 :-)

Date: 2003-11-03 12:32 am (UTC)Yeah... I never watch the football games... but it makes a difference to the university as a whole when we win, so it's nice to see when it happens! :-)
