Sleeeeeeeeep!
Nov. 3rd, 2003 08:00 pmI slept from 6:30-7:30am... then from 8:30am-1:30pm... then from 4:30pn-7:30pm and I had to pull myself out of bed to do work and eat now. Haven't eaten today. Had one bottle of iced tea to drink in the car... gods... talk about neglecting the essentials!
But the elementary school meeting went well. Wish I'd done more work on it, but she was happy all the same. And it's not like I'm getting paid :-) And I got a tour of the school- never been in so new a school before (7 years old). It's gorgeous!! I totally wish I had a job, now.
Then I drove boyfriend to get his car and when he got home he (1) announced that they DO sell pre-wrapped baccon like the Barenaked Ladies complain they don't in 'If I had $1,000,000' and (2) RENT is coming to play on our campus middle of November. EEEEEEKKKKKK! I had no clue. I'm really out of that scene. But I called and we got tickets and Boyfriend doesn't mind me dragging him there- he was even going to cancel the meeting which he is supposed to be leading as president just to go with me. Awwwww! He's so sweet! Oohhhhh!!! I've only seen it twice in theaters- and both times was with the same cast in DC. Oohhhhh! Looking SO forward to a different cast!!! Oohhhhhhhh, and sitting floor level instead of on the second or third row of balcony seats. One day I'll do that line thing... :-) Oohhhh! Excited am I! Mark!!!!!! Ohhhh and Tom and Angel! *snuggles* Yeah... I like the artistic geeky guy and the intelligent computer-savvy gay guy the best. Who'd have guessed? heehee

Date: 2003-11-04 01:21 am (UTC)I have a RENT passion, but I've never had the chance to see it. It's one of those 'I have to do this before I die...' things. Quite near the top of the list, in fact. You're so incredibly lucky. *jealous* And to have floor seats! Augh! Dying!!
I have a friend who's seen it close to thirty times ((she's a New Yorker)), and once she was in the second row. During the Over The Moon scene, when Mimi asks the audience to moo with her, my friend held up this little plush cow and squeezed it, and it mooed! The woman who was playing Joanne started laughing and couldn't stop. lol. It sounded like SO much fun.
*whimper* Waaaaant...

Date: 2003-11-04 02:15 am (UTC)I saw it a few years ago in theaters in DC, then a week after that. The cast was fantastic. I wouldn't say the sound was CD-amazing (the woman playing Mimi could have been a little better) but there's certainly something to be said for the cast I saw *G*
I'm SO looking forward to seeing it again, though. It's totally worth it, even though I cry through the whole second act (and some of the first). When I listen to the CD I usually have to stop halfway through the sex song because Collins singing about Angel dying makes me much too sad.
You should *totally* make it a point to see it if it ever tours nearby :-) I love the little touches that make it unique to each cast (names at the meeting, the pictures in Mark's movie at the end, etc.) But it'll happen for you. It's not going away any time soon. :-)
I have a friend who saw it 25 times back in 1998. I don't want to try and guess how many times he's seen it by now. And another friend saw it 8 times and on her 9th in NYC she got picked in the lottery and got to meet 'Roger' after the show. Now THAT made me jealous! One day... though knowing my luck I would sit in line all morning and not get picked. But I know, it's totally for the experience at that point.

Date: 2003-11-04 06:19 am (UTC)Don't worry about not having a lot of time to write and such. That's totally fine. Don't stress, it seems that everyone is really stressed and has no time for anything. *Myself at the top of the 'i'm so stressed list'* lol.
Ahh and the holidays are coming up, so it's getting really really super stressful!!! Ahhh!
And then ahh SATs in January. *prays that she does well* *wishes she didn't quit going to church so prayer may work better...* *grumbles..* lol.
I think I'm losing it, so I'll end it at that. *G*
Take a deep breath, and don't work too hard!

Date: 2003-11-04 06:41 am (UTC)I've never seen JCSuperStar in theaters but I liked the movie (oddly, I seem to be the only one who did). But the music in general is wonderful for it. That must have been a lot of fun!!!
As for time probs... it's not that I feel guilty about not writing... it's that it's like breathing to me. I *have* to write every day. At least for a few minutes. It hurts a lot and depresses me when I can't.
But yeah, that's true, it is this time of the year. Best of luck with your SATs! I had to take them twice. And I sat through 3 different prep courses in between. So I totally understand that pressure! I'm sure you'll do fine. But either way, remember you can always retake them if you need to.
And don't worry too much. I lost it years ago. Life goes on without it.
