Rant about HP and religion

tarotgalOkay... I know I've mentioned a number of times how horrid and idiotic I think people who protest Harry Potter for religious reasons are (especially when they don't bother to read the books themselves) but harassing CHILDREN?!!!!!

I mean, okay, it looks like some of the kids were more intelligent than the protesters and felt sorry for them, not threatened, thank goodness! But honestly, yelling at poor children to scare them?!!! What the heck is their problem?!!! Do they actually think scaring children is a good thing to do, religiously? Okay, bad question; these are people whose entire religion revolves around scaring people in order to get membership. Dangling spider over the flames of hell and all that. Haven't we grown up any in the last 200 years? Whatever happened to love thy neighbor? Does it take a back-burner to scare thy neighbor to save his soul? Okay, I realize they think that they're saving the kids in the end... but this is not the way to go about it. And since when is assuming what God would want a good thing either? Seriously. I'm completely fed up with this kind of thing. Damn idiots don't even bother to read the books, they just get scared of the idea of going to hell and follow along like damn sheep. I'm sorry, but fear is not a good or healthy reason to be good or believe in anything!! And in the process, they harass young children. Yeah. I'm sure that's really putting you on the list to heaven now.
Sorry, didn't mean to rant... I'm just frustrated at humanity right now. And arm still hurts. Ow...

Okay, and yes... force would be good. I just... gah! I just don't understand people. I guess if I had such blind faith I'd try and do the right thing by it... but I wouldn't want to *hurt* people, let alone children, in the process... I just don't get it.
