Another one of those things...
Nov. 7th, 2003 11:26 pmI don't usually do these... but it took me SO long to think up answers that I think I'd better just post.
The Friday Five
Gacked from Hermione
1. What food do you like that most people hate?
Brussel sprouts- yum!!!
Pretty much all those icky veggies, though... lima beans, spinich, sprouts, you name them, I love 'em
2. What food do you hate that most people love?
Pork chops, especially, make me feel sick to just imagine the taste
(but you can throw in chicken, turkey, cow, pig, sheep, etc. and Banana/yellow peppers *ick*)
3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?
So hard... I find people attractive for SO many different reasons. Can I say Charlton Heston? Do people find him attractive? I've got no idea.
4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find attractive?
So hard, also... Oh! The men on the Caps hockey team. All big and tough and bruised and toothless *huggles* So sexy...
Oh... and I think Joe Pantoliano's wonderfully sexy but I don't bet most people'd agree. I don't know, though.
5. What popular trend baffles you?
LifeGems. WHAT THE HECK?!!!! I dunno if that's really a "popular" trend, but it's the first that popped into my mind so I'm sticking with it.

Date: 2003-11-08 11:46 am (UTC)They've been all over the news... er... ABC at least... and local news. Ew. It freaks me out. Basically, instead of burying or cremating a loved one, you can put them through this process where all of the carbon in their body is used to create a gem. And then you can make that into a ring or a bracelet and wear your loved one as an accessory. Creeps me out, totally. Yes, the idea of having something of the person with you so you can remember them is nice. But making their body into a bracelt? That is creepy. It's like stuffing your pet so they can sit on the mantle or at the dinner table with you. I just... whoa... I know, it's a nice idea in theory, but I can't imagine wearing my mother as a pendant or something. That's just... whoa... disrespectful. I mean, what if you drop the ring down the drain or something? GAH! I'm sorry, this whole idea. Like I said, I'm BAFFLED by it!!!

Date: 2003-11-09 12:37 am (UTC)Yeah... it really is wrong. But then again, I didn't really understand when that trend of freeze-drying pets came about either. You could pose them in neat positions like dogs going for a stick, etc. And then put them in your living room so your pet is with you always. But this jewelry thing goes beyond all my logic...

Not to mention that the process is TRES expensive!
I just... I'm baffled by it, is all!
