Survivor- Amazon
Feb. 14th, 2003 12:49 amAll righty... I'll admit it. I'm a reality show addict. But not like a lot of people... I really enjoy them to see the people- they way they interact, learn about different kinds of people and such- I notice this kind of stuff as a writer. But really, I love Survivor and always have (yay Richard!)
Anyway, just got through watching my taped episode of the newest series tonight. Split men and women into two tribes. Interesting. I'm in a field (computing) where there aren't many women and the ones who exist are normal (like me) or very women-power-oriented (or maybe somewhere in the middle) So I wasn't surprised at some of the comments on either side. But the immunity challenge was interesting- both teams worked hard and mistakes are easy to make- I don't blame either team for winning/losing.
But as soon as it happened- MAN! It was just like Lord of the Flies in the men's tribe. YUMMY! Men humbled and hurt and the cockiness still lingering to a degree. I personally like the one, quiet question one man made as they walked back (paraphrased) "Do you think the women really caught fish?" heehee That's when I fell in love with it. I love watching men doing the buddy-buddy thing, but conflict is just as much fun and the bunch of guys was really, really interesting to watch. And how they STILL thought the women were hot even after the defeat. heehee And a few good, sensible heads in there, which is attractive to me. YUM. I didn't think I'd like the men vs. women thing but I'm totally digging watching all the men act like men together out there.

Re: Whoo asterisks!
Rob.. yeah... I tried to like him (being a computer programmer myself) but I just can't. I don't care if he did get 1420 on his SATs, he's a jerk. And the Magic 8 Ball? At least the darn banner could be used for shelter. And some guy brought his high school wrestling jacket? What is wrong with people and their luxery items this season? Oohhh a medal for when you won such and such... ok, maybe you could use the cord for something useful... but gah... [end of rant]
I ADORE RENT... and though I like Roger and Mimi I love Collins and Angel- there's just something about never-faultering true love *sigh* Such cuties. And Angel is SO loving. I would love to be that way.
I've loved RENT for years and I still can't make it through the second act without sobbing at least twice.
Two of my friends are driving to DC (weather permitting, which it possibly won't) to see it this week. I'm SO envious. So I started playing the soundtrack to cheer myself up :-)
