Marauder Fic Question

Question... I asked before but didn't get a response and still haven't make up my mind, so I'll ask again where it's not buried at the bottom of a pointless post :-)

I have a new Marauder fic in the works (with sneezey!James) and it's a many many many parter. Though, unlike "Under House Arrest" I have an ending already in mind AND a set time limit within the story (it takes place during 4 days). Each part will probably be short, but there are to be MANY parts. So my question is- should I post it in parts on Sneezefic... should I post it in parts here... or should I post it all at one time when it's finished(I know how annoying all my unfinished stories are)? What would people prefer? I don't want to bother the list with too many boring posts if people don't want to read the story that keeps going and going and going with seemingly no end... I could post a few at a time, maybe? Or I could just post here where it won't bother anyone but is still available... I dunno. Anyone have a preference???

Ooooo, Sneezey James! I can't wait to read! I think it might be fun for you to post the parts here first, then when the story's all done you post it on sneezefic. Of course I'm the impatient kind, so other opinions would be helpful too. :) Whatever way you go, you will have a eager audience. Gayle

I agree! I'd like to see it all finished on Sneezefic, or here. But I like to read things in whole. But whichever is easiest!

I'd just feel horrible if I started posting onlist and ended up not finishing it... or dragging it out so long it annoyed people.
And, yeah... I will no doubt need to clean it up some along the way as well (especially as I get comments on certain parts) So that's another good thing to consider. Thanks :-)

I have to say I agree with everyone here. I think it's a great idea to post the parts here; you still the feedback as you go, but you have time to fix things up and do all the groovy tweakage before publishing it, so to speak. Personally, I read more, and send more feedback on, finished, polished fic since you can take in the whole thing, and get a better impression of the piece. And then there's the impatience thing, with the wanting to read more and find out what happens without having to wait. ;) But anyway, yeah.

Yeah... I have a feeling- especially with the length issue- there will need to be some tweakage. And it doesn't hurt to have problems pointed out as I go, either. And who knows, perhaps the story will end up sucking and I'll have no desire to put it on sneezefic anyway for archive-sake :-) I probably enjoy finished fics more, too, as a reader. But I rather like the idea of working in small, managable parts for a change, as a writer.
