LotR

Just finished watching Two Towers again... think I have a much better grasp on the dialogue (which isn't saying much LOL) Man... I always laugh at the dwarf tossing bits- doesn't matter how many times I watch that. And I always cry when Haldir dies. There's just something very surreal about an immortal dying violently. You'd think I would be used to it with Highlander and all, but no. I cry when the good ones on Highlander are killed as well. There's really something very... surreal is the only word I can find. It always makes me sad. They who should have lived forever(to steal from my favorite Forever Knight episode)... Not to mention that Haldir and the elves were never really supposed to be there in the first place LOL

Anyway, I'lll still need time to work on the Elvish, but it is going slightly better. I am trying to construct whole phrases and NOT doing a very good job lol But I will do what I can and then post it. Hopefully I will get it done tonight before I fall asleep, though with my sleep patterns, who's to say? :-)

LotR Fic

I finally posted it. I finished editing last night around 3am my time but still hadn't found a title. The title didn't hit me until my 7am wake up call to take more meds. So on my second round awake, I named and posted. Hopefully it's not too bad for a first fic. The dialogue needs to be spiffier, I know, but that's just something I'll have to work on for my second LotR fic, whenever that comes about :-) heehee

Thanks for all the yummy support here and onlist and in e-mail. It was really much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *huggles for all*

I'm downloading a few episodes of Highlander to use for vidding and watching them rather randomly as I get them. Yesterday's pick was 'Methos' and today's was 'Watchers' both extremely pivitol episodes in the series. It's very interesting watching the old episodes in random order, knowing what I know now.

I had to laugh through much of 'Methos' because of the fact that Highlander:Endgame stole so much of its plot LOL And, man, a young Peter Wingfield makes his appearance on the show- they didn't know how far he would go on it *G* I just think of the horsemen eps and the Methuselah stone and Judgement Day and then watch the first episode he's in- it's very immature in comparison, but there are no contradictions and the mystery and potential is overwhelmingly lucious. What an amazing character Methos is. I mean, truly. I really, really wish they'd had an episode to build up the theory of the oldest immortal, though. Given us time to really build our hopes up rather than telling us it's a legend not the truth then showing us the guy 2 minutes later.

As for watchers... the perfect way to begin a new season, even though I cry every time they show the scene with Darius' head body. *sniffles* If I were an immortal, I'd want to be Darius. What a sweet, kind, WISE man. And Joe... MAN... his introduction to the series as well. And Horton *GROWL!* Secret societies... immortals threatened by a logical but unnatural presence... leading up to so many intricate details and plots and complex friendships

What an amazing series. And sure, the episodes are corny sometimes and rough compared to later ones... but there's a certain beauty in the roughness. A certain elegance in the mystery which leads to so much. Gods, I love that show.

Stories...

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] magictoes11 who took it from [livejournal.com profile] shirehobbit2002 :-)

Stories I have already completed:
Oh come on, there are over a hundred, you didn't think I'd list them all here, did you? See them on TG's Realm.
But the most recent 3-
1. Refuge from the Cold (LotR)
2. Brands of Healing (SW)
3. Lupercalia (HP)

Stories in progress I need to work on:
1. Under House Arrest (HP)- James gets a cold, his friends take over the house
2. An Exposed Escort (SW)- On a mission to escort a diplomat, Obi finds some rather sneezey problems with the diplomat's cat...terrible title
3. Untitled Fic (HP)- Harry's got a cold and Sirius and Remus amuse him with a before bedtime story from their days at Hogwarts
4. Vacation(working title) (SW)- A reluctant Tala is sent off to vacation, ends up on a bit of an adventure anyway
5. Untitled (NA)- Original fiction story about a sniffley handsome cab driver in NYC (wonder where I came up with that idea?)
6. Untitled (SW)- Tala's crew on the medical ship (The Aesculapius) all fall ill and Tala's left to get them back home in once piece (prequal to To Be a Master)

Stories in progress I need to work on only after finishing the ones above:
TONS of unfinished ones from various fandoms.. basically everything listed on TG's Realm with 'unfinished' by its name and everything mentioned in a previous post of mine. There's at least 50, I assure you.

Stories I need/want to start:
1. Someone (forgive me, I don't remember who!) suggested a 'Snape is commanded by Dumbledore to look after a sick Sirius' story and it's been eating me away... I REALLY want to write it... just have a lot of other things on my plate right now lol But I do have a few of the scenes worked out already *G*
2. A 'Taken' fic... basically, an excuse for Adrian Paul to sneeze cuz I never could quite work it well in Highlander. Apparently, his character (an alien in human form) is very sensitive to extreme cold- oh darn. Couldn't imagine what to do with that...
3. Probably another LotR sneezey elf story... nothing solid yet, but he and Aragorn keep slipping into bed together at Lorien and tickling each other under the sheets... I've tried dragging them out to explain I need to finish other stories first, but they're not listening
4. Anastasia fic- with Dmitry catching cold (I think... there's the allergy to the dog potential that's kinda cute, too) Mmm... too many choices... that's a good thing *G*

TV Tonight

I watched 'Trackers' again... the second episode I've ever seen... and I've come to a different conclusion about it. It must have been FUN to do a show like this after Highlander. No expectations, no pressures, just a complex situation, some funny possibilities, and room to play. And it must be fun to do funny scenes as an actor... assuming the writers are any good (which is not the actors' fault anyway) For a series to follow Highlander in his career, I think Adrian Paul made a good choice. Hope he had fun with it. :-)

I taped 'John Doe'... will watch that a little later. And I watched most of a 'Fish called Wanda' over at my boyfriend's place- I'd never seen it before and always wanted to. LOL Now THAT was funny :-)

I'm feeling sleepy now... and it's not even midnight.. I dunno what's wrong with me lately!
