Just opened and started watching my Highlander Season 2 DVD set last night- 8 DVDs! I was impressed! And OH my gosh, I can't believe I hesitated so long to buy it! It's got writer/producer comments for EVERY SINGLE EPISODE! And bloopers for some of the episodes (especially for one of my favorite eps!) I own two Highlander blooper tapes but some of the episode-specific bloopers even I hadn't seen! And there are "watcher" files with the mortals, immortals, and watchers associated with each episode. Oh, and the quality is BEAUTIFUL!!! I even caught an inside joke last night I'd never seen before- probably because I was too busy watching sexy running Duncan (I fell in love with him the first time as he was running down a street in an episode) the first million times I saw the episode. But there it was, in all its digital perfection and the inside joke right there! LOL! I'm REALLY liking this DVD set. Very much! Can't wait til I get to disk 3 which has commentary during all the episodes! Yay!!! *does very happy dance* GOOD set!

Oh... plus they gave me a $5 off coupon for the Highlander store. Ug. And I thought I was rid of that place. Every time I make a break it puuuuuulls me back in saying "Come on... buy a Highlander: the source director's chair! The movie isn't even made yet, but you know you want it" or "wouldn't your apartment look great with a Highlander candle in the middle of the room?" And I think... yeah... I do... and it would...
Ug. Bad Highlander store! Have stolen much money from me and gotten my orders wrong 4 times now! I hate them! And yet... can't pass up a free $5!

You are a claymore! Large sharp, double-edged,
your very name means great. If you have one
weakness it is that you're heavy and
cumbersome.

What kind of sword are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Whoo. Not a surprise at all :-) Especially since this is my favorite sword of all time! I was tempted to answer the questions I knew would lead me to the katana... but I answered honestly and am VERY happy with my result! Go Scottish weapons! Mmmm... has memory of ambiguous discussion between but-kicking-chick-number-2 and Duncan in episode 'Patient Number 7' in Highlander 7th season...
Kyra: "I've never met a Scotsman before. Tell me, are they well-armed?"
Duncan stops in the process of taking off his shoes, and looks at her, one hand on his hip: "What exactly do you mean?"
Kyra, innocent: "I mean their swords, of course. What did you think I meant?"
Duncan, momentarily nonplussed, but not for long: "Oh. Uh, your French toad-stabbers, they're fine for some, but . . ." He turns away, finishing with mild contempt, " . . . they're kind of puny."
Kyra sits up: "You think them small?"
Duncan: "Och! They're hardly worth your while." He continues, with a slight note of smugness creeping into his voice. "A Scotsman's weapon, that's another matter." He gets in the bed. "Once it gets going, there's nothing that can stop it."
Kyra lies back, making a noise of almost disbelief: "Really?"
Duncan: "Aye." He holds up his hands, curving them around the imaginary, um, sword. "Two hands to hold the thing." He hefts the imaginary object illustratively. "I doubt you could even hold it." He suddenly clears his throat, and prepares to lie down.
Kyra: "Surely you exaggerate."
Duncan: "No. Not a wee bit." He pulls the covers up. "Come to Scotland and I'll show you."
Kyra, confused: "Scotland?"
Duncan looks at her in mock amazement: "You didna think I could bring it in here, did you? I mean, the bloody thing wouldn't fit through the door!"
Kyra: "Oh. You mean your sword."
Duncan: "The claymore, of course." His voice turns sly. "What did you think I meant?"

*giggle* Ahhhhh nothing good for a giggle during an otherwise horrible episode then sexual ambiguity in a flashback. My Robert carries a basket-hit claymore, actually! Ug... my Robert is mad at me because I haven't finished writing his novels yet. Maybe I'll forget I mentioned my Robert.

I tried to go to sleep... it didn't happen. I have a meeting I must leave home for in less than 3 hours... grrr! I took headache medicine... isn't kicking in yet. I'd like to write, actually. Part 3 in both of my Obi series are calling to me... write... you know you want to. But no... I'll try to sleep again. *sigh* Real life. I'm going to be working my butt off this week... hopefully I'll find time to squeeze in Obi, but I'm not counting on it *pout*

Owwww...

Problem with taking headache medicine at 6am like I did... I'm not allowed to take any more until at least noon... and headache got bad around 9:30... Grrrr! I have a few hours to catch up on sleep, but I doubt I'll be able to fall asleep with this headache... not fair! lol

So I went to bed around 6:30, got up at 8:10... drove to campus feeling VERY tired. Sort of that kind of driving where you're fine just to follow the road and all but thinking and reacting are a little slow? Anyway, they blocked off the end of the road I usually take... so I had to think of a route around it. ANd right there, on the road I hoped went through that I'd never driven on before- was a school bus. So I quickly stop for that and wait behind the car in front of me for the little kiddies to get on, hoping that was all that life would throw in front of me this morning when, yes, you guessed it, an ambulance came through from behind. I was already stopped and there wasn't more than 2 feet of room between me and the car ahead so I couldn't pull over... but somehow the bus managed to go and we went forward and pulled over and everything was fine after that. But ug! Talk about bad timing.

And then someone stalked me as I was leaving to get my parking space. SO bloody annoying!!!!!!! And even though I was annoyed I walked my normal pace and I didn't fake them out or cut through lanes. The car followed me across the ENTIRE length of the lot- which is 6 rows- then all the way down to the end of mine where I'd parked, going veeery slowly behind me. And I didn't even get a wave afterwards to thank me for giving my spot to her. Grrr! Stupid parking lot stalkers. I REFUSE to do that to people unless I just happen to be circling and end up near someone who's about to get in his/her car. Then I put on my blinker and go slowly and leave room for them to back out. I refuse to follow anyone that closely the whole way. Maybe I'll leave and circle then come back to them once they get to their car... but I don't drive slowly behind them as they walk... that's just frustrating.

Ug... I want happy pain-go-away-pills now!!! I'm so very tired. Ug. Tuesdays I get nothing productive done. I'm always sleeping to make up for short nights because of these damn early meetings. So stupid. And so are the meetings.

Maybe I'll pull out my new DVDs and watch the Highlander episode with Michael Shanks guest starring to cheer up? That boy's so adorably cute I just want to hug him... until he gets killed... and then it's actually rather sad. And to think I didn't recognize him as the same actor until about halfway through watching season 1 of Stargate SG1 :-) It's a terrible episode of Highlander, though... apart from Michael in the flashbacks... and one scene where Duncan gets trapped in a freezer and gets all cold and shivery and I just want to jump on him and warm him up *G*

Ug... damn headache... isn't it noon yet? *whines*
