I've been taping like mad this weekend... all on Bravo...
I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching Pollock... and The Red Violin... and the others... especially Nicholas Nickleby which I've never seen and am DYING to see adorable Timothy Spall in something (I know he's in To Kill a Priest and I've watched that recently since I do have it on tape-thanks to my Christopher Lambert obsession, but I can't figure out which he is, LOL!!!) Plus the lead actor who plays Nicholas is rather adorable :-)

Anyway, apparently today(Monday) Besieged will be on Bravo as well. Which means maybe I'll finally see David Thewlis in a part that doesn't want to make me punch him or shudder with disgust. Speaking of which, Dragonheart was on again Sunday night... saw a few seconds of it while flipping around during a commercial in the middle of the Charmed marathon... GODS I'd forgotten how incredibly ugly I found David to be in that movie. I know, I'm HORRIBLY superficial, but if the guy's going to play my most FAVORITE Harry Potter character, I tend to get a little overly emotional. LOL

So that's two of the four Marauder actors in movies on Bravo in the space of 24 hours. I'm beginning to REALLY love that channel. Even if it has started to get all NBC-y :-(

Someone in my backyard is screaming. I can't see who or what it's about, though I'm looking. Gods, I hope it's no one getting murdered or raped or I'll feel terribly guilty for not doing anything. They sound like happy screams. Probably just some stupid drunk kids out at 4:30 in the morning. Lots of partiers have moved into my building as of late. I'm not fond of the change.

Boyfriend really frustrated me tonight. Bigtime. I think I'm going to have to sit down and make a list of everything he does to annoy me and then figure out what I can do to keep it from annoying me. I was so pissed on the drive home tonight I almost started crying. Then the guy goes and puts his head on my shoulder for, like, 5 minutes and kisses me and I lost all umph to be mad at all. LOL I think the not replying to 75% of what I say thing is the thing that bugs me the most. I'm just going to have to cut down my talking by about that much and see if it makes any difference. If he's not going to acknowledge me talking, I just won't bother talking. The talking thing's a bit point for me, though. It's something from my childhood/young adulthood when my parents didn't listen to me or reply when I talked either. So maybe I just need to learn not to say as much.

This has nothing to do with taping any more. LOL Sorry :-) I'm going to finish editing an Obi story and then go to bed. Then I'll get up, feel depressed about everything, and figure something out. Gods, sometimes I just want to pick up and leave.

Yay!

Just have to say a huge YAY! about all the happy Emmy winners!
Lots of my favorites (like Six Feet Under) didn't win, sadly. But there were some surprising winners I was very happy to see!

First off:
Lead Actor, Comedy Series-
Tony Shalhoub, "Monk," USA- YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He TOTALLY deserved to win that, especially compared to the other nominees. He does such a fantastic job on that show!!!! It's great to see him win... now I wish I'd seen that part of the awards show to hear his acceptance speech! *sniffles* Go Tony!

And then:
Lead Actress, Miniseries or Movie-
Maggie Smith, "My House in Umbria," HBO- YAY! Go Maggie!!! I didn't see it, but I saw commercials for it and it looked spectacular. I wish I got HBO at home so I could have seen it!

Reality/Competition Program -
"The Amazing Race," CBS- Again, totally deserved to win compared to the others. They did a great job with that season!

Variety, Music or Comedy Special-
"Cher: The Farewell Tour," NBC- aaawwww! I'm happy about that, too *G*

Miniseries-
Steven Spielberg Presents Taken," Sci Fi- I taped it all... I've been meaning to watch it. It looks really good

Variety, Music or Comedy Series and Writing, Variety, Music or Comedy Program-
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," Comedy Central- YAY!!! VERY happy to see that! They have some of the best comedy writers on tv... and I'm not just saying that because I'm ultra liberal, but because I really enjoy watching that show. There's such a great dynamic with Jon and all the correspondants and delivery of each and every joke is wonderful. But Jon is exceptional. I thought I'd be sad to see someone take Craig's place, but I'm not. I love Jon. He's fantastic. I'm VERY happy about both of its wins! Very much deserved!

Supporting Actor, Drama Series-
Joe Pantoliano, "The Sopranos," HBO- Okay, I'll admit, I've never seen him on The Sopranos. But he 1-sneezes in The Matrix and 2-guest starred in a Highlander 1st season episode(Deadly Medicine, heehee, the one I named the Snape, Sirius/Remus story after) and 3-rocked hard in Memento and I managed to catch his acceptance speech. I LOVE this guy to death. And am soooo happy he's getting his own series this fall. He's such a cutie.

I was happy about a bunch of others (like Tyne and Debra and Wayne) but these were the ones I was bouncing up and down about *G* heehee! Very happy some of my favorites actually won for a change. Yeah, I know. I have weird taste.

I feel very spoiled now that Nermal's got an LJ and is posting bits of fics... I'm really been in the mood for short fluff lately (which seems to be the last thing I'm actually writing when it comes to Obi and Qui) and I'm adoring it to pieces, as I always do with nermal's stuff.

Anyway, short vs. long is very interesting to me, when it comes to fics. Sometimes I just want to read PWP so badly. Which, luckily, most of the fic lists I'm on seem to be pretty darn good at. And other times I do certainly like to get deep into a story that seems to never end and is overflowing with its goodness. And then I jump excitedly each time it's continued. It's very exciting- certainly moreso than quick fics. But I dunno... maybe it's because small fics are instantly gratifying? They don't leave you hanging or struggling to remember what happened in the last installment weeks or months ago. Or maybe I just like pretty, quick little scenes. I have a still unfinished HP Lupin-centered fic that's just one scene after another building up to a point at the very end (assuming one day I finally reach the end). I love pretty little scenes that are so sweet and touching and moving on their own. I just... I dunno... I'm really into little fics lately.

Which is why I'm really torn on this Obi-flu story I wrote last night. I have 2 more parts to add to it. Originally I thought it would be three separate stories (each with its own plot and all that). But now I think that's just my desire for short fics kicking in and it should just be three chapters of one single fic. It's driving me crazy. ESPECIALLY since I have a separate plot for parts 1 and 3 but I'm feeling really lost with part 2 right now. It's just dragging on and on with absolutely nothing going on except Obi not feeling well. I can't imagine making it stand alone the way it is... but 1 and 3 aren't bad on their own... GAH! I'm frustrated! And Obi's not in any state to help me out, the poor sneezey love.
I'm thinking... maybe I post the drafts here (when I finish all three parts) and people can tell me if they work on their own or if they should just be chapters? Or, um, anyone want to take pity on me and beta them when I'm done and tell me what the heck I should do with them???

Anyway... very happy for all the lovely fics lately! I feel very spoiled, all-around, especially when it comes to sneezefiction. *G* Almost makes me want to post some of my unfinished bits on my LJ as well... erg... nope, still too nervous about that. Maybe I'll work up to it.
