Just got home

Just got home. They didn't believe when I told them the EE was long... I went over at 7:30, it's 1:30 and I just got home. We ate before we watched and then stopped it a DOZEN times so we could explain what was happening or what had happened in the previous movie. And hey, you know me, I'm still kind of a newbie in the fandom, and here I was looking like some sort of an expert in comparison! Twas a little funny. I was tempted to start using other names of Gandalf and Aragorn at times, but didn't want to cofuse. Anyway *sigh* I love TTT EE. All the humor. And deapth. I cried at Sam's speech at the end, though I know it nearly by heart. It was just nice watching it with a bunch of friends... and I'm feeling very into stories and making yourself immortal through them... so that's what did it.

I'm past 3,500 steps today. Pathetic, but I'm getting there. Slowly working up to 10,000 :-) Anyway, I've got some work and 4 hours of TV from tonight taped to watch... plus the end of Sliding Doors. I've never seen it before, and I'm just half an hour from the end. GODS I love John Hannah. His accent just... oohhhhhhh! YUMMY! Of course I've loved him ever since Four Weddings and a Funeral where he played adorable gay Matthew- I typically attach actors to their first roles and seeing him just makes my heart break. But he's also terribly adorable once I separate myself from that. LOL Okay... I'm worried something terrible will happen in the last bit, that's why I'm rambling and waiting... Hrmmm... I have some egg drop soup I took home from dinner... maybe I'll heat that up first... :-)

Anyhoo *sigh* Nice movie watching. I can't wait until seeing RotK again tomorrow *packing tissues as we speak*

Did I mention how much I adore Sir Ian McKellen?

Not just because he is an exceptional actor, and an incredible activist for gay rights, though I suppose those have to be my top two reasons.

But his whole seeing more between Frodo & Sam and convincing Sean to hold Lij's hand during that scene- I MUST thank him whole-heartedly for pushing for that. Not just on a slash aspect (though that helps) but because that's the way it is and it means so much.
But, here we go, he also knows about slash and Aragorn/Legolas slash at that. Good man! Good man indeed!!! *claps* Whoohoo! Go written porn!

As for the Kyoto Treaty- gosh darnit, what the fuck is wrong with this world? I mean, I understand there are false reports that say there's nothing wrong with emissions... but, seriously, it's our freaking planet here. Can't governments take a little responsibilty when it comes to not destroying it quite so quickly? And, yeah, it all comes down to money and politics but, damnit, I'm more concerned with things like energy efficiency and limiting emissions and NOT killing the only world we have, thank you very much. GROWL! Okay, so this Russia thing is news to me. Last I heard(mid-December) they were still considering but hadn't officially refused to sign. I suppose that, after being prodded heavily for a year and not signing, I should have guessed. *crosses fingers that the EU will put proper pressure on Russia to sign* Okay, I'm done ranting now. *pulls copy of Ecotopia off shelf to calm self down*

Random thought

Having just watched both episode 38's, I think I like Inuyasha's sneeze in English better than Japanese. *snuggles the half-pup* He's still cute either way, though.

Oh, and I got feedback back from my wonderful beta last night on that HP story I was having trouble with. Going to add a couple things to the fic and post it this afternoon, I hope. But first, a little more sleep. Cat woke me up an hour or two before I wanted to get up. He doesn't want me to play or anything, just wanted me to get up *rolls eyes* My cat is WAY too smart for his own good. LOL
