Nice Night

Went and picked up two friends and went over to boyfriend's, and the four of us sat around and watched 'Freddy vs. Jason' which was MUCH less horrid now that I know two of the main characters from 'Joan of Arcadia' *small squee* It was still a terrible movie... and I purposely tuned a good 75% out in order to try and put together my big climax scene for my Neville/Harry story. I think it's going to have to happen in the showers. Yes. Only way, really, considering I start the story with a completely naked Ron. Ug. It's NOT cooperating. LOL Anyway, then we watched FotR EE *louder squee*

My boyfriend was UTTERLY confused the first time we saw FotR- and having not read the books at all and not having listened to them since I was, like, 5, I was no better. So Boyfriend kept leaning over to me and saying "This makes SO much more sense now!" He's seen TTT 3 times now (twice the EE) and RotK 2 times now. So now he understand FotR. A little backwards in my mind, but whatever works, right? Of course, he still leaned over and asked me a dozen questions throughout as well- and one of the four of us had NEVER seen any of the movies, so that was a nice experience. Of course, we made some jokes throughout, and I kept bringing up slash pairings, but they were drinking and so we wanted to keep it light. I stil cried a little bit after Gandalf's "Death" and at Boromir's. But, MAN, I do a wicked Boromir impression with "Give them a moment for pity's sake!" Having watched the Lothlorien scenes at least 100 times while writing 'Cherishing', I know it all by heart- both the theatrical and the EE versions *G*

Anyway, I'm going to go find something to eat for dinner (yes, it's 3am, what's your point?) and then watch some of that Sci Fi movie starring John Rhys Davies I taped tonight. Hope it doesn't suck, but I have very low expectations. I watched some of Dragonheart earlier today and I'm back to HATING Thewlis. LOL! Ew ew ew! He is NOT my Remus! His voice just... ick... he looks like a pervy old child molester. Ew. Okay, a lot of it was his wig, but still. EW!

Ohhhhh this was fun! Maps of places I've visited :-) Of course, I don't really consider myself to have visited Sweden(only spent a total of 3 hours there between planes) and I don't remember Australia or PNG because I was too young... but technically I have set foot there, so it counts! Bwa ha ha! :-)

I have relatives in Iowa which is why we always take the central route across country when visiting them (on the way to California to visit other relatives) Thus I've not had the pleasure of some northern states and southern ones. And Maine, well, I've secretly always wanted to go to Maine. Anyway, I'm sad it's only 74%. Would have been neat to have at least 75%. I'll have to work on that :-)
I would LOVE to pack up my tiny car with cat and all and just take off and explore on my own. I really would. But that would require money. I would love to go state by state and write stories for each one, local sorts of stories... like a roming minstril who doesn't sing, just stores up the stories she comes across and then later publishes them. But, yeah, money. My aunt has a pool house I can live in when I get to CA, but she's already said I'm not supposed to bring my cat in that case. Anyhoo, I shall stop rambling now. I've edited this post, like, 8 times now.

awards show

I watched a bit of the Golden Globes. I tend not to like the Golden Globes, but I don't like most award shows in general- and this one's voting has always really annoyed me. Well, that and the fact that they never pick who I want to win. LOL
*sigh* I really wanted Big Fish to win SOMETHING! *sniffles*

And, of course, RotK won a lot- which I'm thrilled about, but not surprised. Just watched the end where Peter's giving his thank you's for the Best Picture win and he had everybody get up on stage with him, lined up behind him. Then, as he says his last 'thank you' and everyone claps, Lij jumps over straight away and gives Dom this really big, enthusiastic hug, like he'd been waiting all that time just to do it. Awwwwwww! Worth watching just for that! heehee!

Still... grrr... I really wanted Big Fish to win something. It SO deserved it. Stupid Golden Globes... I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Academy Awards now, I suppose.
