Video findings
Dec. 14th, 2004 12:36 amSo I was trying to find a video yesterday I could tape Earthsea on, and pulled out out of my 'can tape over this' box. As I went to pop it in, however, a few things caught my eye. First on the tape was the first episode of Earth 2. Which means that I certainly could not tape over that part of the tape! I love that show. Really strange and lost me from time to time... but Antonio was damn cute and Tim Curry was brilliant as always... and the characters were interesting.
Anyhoo, following Earth 2 was Star Trek VI. Following that was St. Elmo's Fire (which I have on DVD, probably the reason I pitched it into the box in the first place). And then after that was what I like to call 'Random Stuff'
I have at least 50 'Random Stuff' tapes. The title usually means it's a mix of a lot of different show and other things- too many to list out on the side label, at least. There's also a good chance that 'random stuff' on a tape with existing quality stuff meant I had to rush to tape something. And that rush usually- but not always- means sneezing is involved. This was no exception. After an episode of Happy Days (I still don't understand that one) and an episode of Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place (I don't really know why I taped that, either, but I'm glad since I dig the boys), was the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and Mikey are practicing their fake sneezes. And then, after that, was the Ricky Martin episode of fanatic (VH1 was it?). OMG I honestly thought I'd lost that forever. I thought it, like a few Sesame Street segments I'd managed to quickly tape, had not been labeled amongst my other random stuff because I was too shy to write anything down on the label and, thus, it would be lost forever in my vast collection of video tapes. But, no, right there on the label- Ricky Martin!!!
So I watched. Guhhhhh. Okay, so I adore fictional sneezes the most because so few people ever really sneeze the way I really like in real life. And Ricky's isn't really my favorite kind, either. But there's something SOOOOO very sexy about the way he breathes out deeply, trying to urge the sneeze on. That something is probably a little bit of desperation there as he's trying to sneeze before the interview starts. But Ohhhhh how I'm glad they didn't cut that out of the show! What luck. And sexiness. Oooohhhh yum! If I ever get my microphone working properly again, I shall have to re-record that one to wav format, I think.
