Video findings
Dec. 14th, 2004 12:36 amSo I was trying to find a video yesterday I could tape Earthsea on, and pulled out out of my 'can tape over this' box. As I went to pop it in, however, a few things caught my eye. First on the tape was the first episode of Earth 2. Which means that I certainly could not tape over that part of the tape! I love that show. Really strange and lost me from time to time... but Antonio was damn cute and Tim Curry was brilliant as always... and the characters were interesting.
Anyhoo, following Earth 2 was Star Trek VI. Following that was St. Elmo's Fire (which I have on DVD, probably the reason I pitched it into the box in the first place). And then after that was what I like to call 'Random Stuff'
I have at least 50 'Random Stuff' tapes. The title usually means it's a mix of a lot of different show and other things- too many to list out on the side label, at least. There's also a good chance that 'random stuff' on a tape with existing quality stuff meant I had to rush to tape something. And that rush usually- but not always- means sneezing is involved. This was no exception. After an episode of Happy Days (I still don't understand that one) and an episode of Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place (I don't really know why I taped that, either, but I'm glad since I dig the boys), was the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and Mikey are practicing their fake sneezes. And then, after that, was the Ricky Martin episode of fanatic (VH1 was it?). OMG I honestly thought I'd lost that forever. I thought it, like a few Sesame Street segments I'd managed to quickly tape, had not been labeled amongst my other random stuff because I was too shy to write anything down on the label and, thus, it would be lost forever in my vast collection of video tapes. But, no, right there on the label- Ricky Martin!!!
So I watched. Guhhhhh. Okay, so I adore fictional sneezes the most because so few people ever really sneeze the way I really like in real life. And Ricky's isn't really my favorite kind, either. But there's something SOOOOO very sexy about the way he breathes out deeply, trying to urge the sneeze on. That something is probably a little bit of desperation there as he's trying to sneeze before the interview starts. But Ohhhhh how I'm glad they didn't cut that out of the show! What luck. And sexiness. Oooohhhh yum! If I ever get my microphone working properly again, I shall have to re-record that one to wav format, I think.

Date: 2004-12-13 10:27 pm (UTC)I'm just now learning to confine sneezing-related things to a few tapes. So many for me are scattered now that it's not really worth it. Plus, if someone stumbles on something s-related in the middle of one of my tapes, I can always claim I taped it by accident and then taped something important after it so I can't tape over it now. Um, yeah. Not like I've used that excuse several times before. Nope, not me. I did used to have a special section of one of my shelves for tapes with sneezing-related stuff on them. But even when I got my own place I still wasn't brave enough to label the tapes, even with a little S in the corner or something. *blush*
And as for the other three episodes you mention... oohhh! I've never seen *any* of the above. *Is sad* I'm sure I probably saw the I Dream of Jeanie ep some time, but I don't remember it. And I've seen screen caps of the Aladdin episode, but that's it.
I'm glad you got the tape, too. I couldn't remember hearing back from you about it. So I'm glad it made it there safely :-)

Date: 2004-12-13 10:40 pm (UTC)That's so cool! I just started my own tape and it has that movie with Rob Lowe on it and some Hubb and that guy from Monk. I used to have 'Monkey Buisness' and ohhhmygod. It was so great because Chris McDonald (think that's his name) in the middle of massive sneezing fit was calling out his wife's name, which happened to be mine. Mwaha!
Oh and a question about wavs too. Do you know what episodes you got the Braceface Connor sneezing from? I'm like dying to see them. (Hopefully none coming up in the next two weeks because I won't be able to, then I'd really raise a fit. LOL!)

Date: 2004-12-13 11:14 pm (UTC)Braceface- As a veggie, I adore this show. And Connor's so cute and geeky I can't help but like him. I should really go look through my videos to be sure about this (or at least seem as though I don't know these from memory!) but most of his sneezes that I know about are early season 1. There's: Brace Yourself, Crushed, The Pickford Project, and Triangles.
Some episode (one of the fist 10 I think) has a school dance, and Connor sneezes in that episode... just don't remember which ep it is.
In addition, The Doctor Is In has a cute scene with him sick (practically everyone is) and he and Sharon talk to each other from opposite sides of his bedroom door- I find it adorable and badly want to write that into a fic someplace.
Ricky Martin- sooo cute. He's waiting for a fan to come interview him and comments about how he has to sneeze. Then he cuts away to the fan approaching from outside the building. Then cuts back to him as the sneeze is building. He says "I hope she doesn't come before I have to sneeze!" Cuts away to the fan, then back again as he's trying to draw it out. Then he sneezes, rather softly but real & on camera, and a second later (thanks probably to video-editing) the fan walks in. *EG* Very adorable.
Monkey Buisness- I've never seen it! *pouts sadly* But that sounds fantastically awesome and delicious!! It's nice to have a common name, isn't it? *G*

Date: 2004-12-13 11:35 pm (UTC)I use to have this braces fetish when I was younger (kinda have it now, just not as much because I'm about to get them and I'm all wah about it LOL!) but, I haven't sat down to see the show until I listened to the clips and OHH WOW! I sat here for like an hour a night just listening. *is really sad* LOL! He's so sweet and like a little pre-Daniel Jackson. So cute!!
OH! OH! I seen that episode! :D Though wasn't it a just a rash? I could be wrong, though, I dunno. i hope he wasn't sick-sick, because I would have missed that.
AWWW! That is so adorable about Ricky Martin! I used to watch that show a few times, but didn't see the one with him. Now I really wish I would have. Darn! Though, if that was me, I'd be super mad I missed him sneeze. LOL!
Oh! You must! It's from like, 1994 and I used to watch it all the time because of that. He has an allergy to the monkey and there is sooo much good sneezing parts in it. It's a must check out! :D Yay! I don't really see anyone in movies with the name "Amy" (or even spelled like mine would be a bigger shocker), but I got sooo lucky that time.

Date: 2004-12-14 04:40 am (UTC)Since everyone is mentioning clips and stuff...Has anyone out there seen the movie Bandits with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton by any chance? Very cute movie about bank robbers that came out about 2001?
