Old Tylenol Commercial

I finished watching today's dose of Buffy & Angel (which was scary, delicious, and heartbreaking in that order) and on the tape I was taping it on was a Regis & some chica morning show where The Barenaked Ladies were performing. I thought I'd watch it to see what songs they were singing (which would help me recall when I taped it in the first place) and one of the commercials was a delightful old tylenol cold medicine commercial. Was a lovely blast from the past!

Two very cute boys in a car, driving in the snow on the way to their ski weekend, all happy because apparently they like skiing. Cute boy in passenger seat is blowing his nose and looking all miserable. Nice driver cute boy says "You're not going to be sick all weekend. I'm going to take care of you." He pulls over to a convenient store and searches the shelves until he finds the Tylenol cold medicine. Then they get to the ski lodge and see a chica sitting on one of the couches blowing her nose. So nice cute boy pushes his now not-so-sick-looking friend her way and tells him to go help her out. So he goes over a little nervously and pulls out the cold medicine on the way and awwwwww they're all cute and laughing together as Mr.VoiceOver does his bit at the end while nice friend is watching all happy for them. So cute!

Okay, so my favorite part was the "Don't worry, I'm going to take care of you" line and the guys bonding in the car there at the beginning but, still, so cute and snuggly the end! My whole ideal snuggling in front of the fireplace in a snowstorm fantasy thing. *sigh* Very with the cute. I'm TOTALLY going to not tape over that part of the tape now, just for that. Well, and the BNL. And the Weird Al Star Wars Episode I music video I taped after that.

So... yeah, just had to share. Because anywhere else in this world people would think I was completely insane for going all mushy over a Tylenol commercial from many years ago.

HP Ficlet and Fic Progress

Today's fics:

• Started yet another FAKE fic, this time with Dee. I wanted to write a "really bored and really sick and playing with newfangled cold remedies" fic, but I don't really like it so far. I might give up on it.
  
• Started to write the beginning I'd intended for the Legolas/Gimli ficlet I posted yesterday, but several sentences into the fic I suddenly realized it was a completely different fic. So I'm going to write this one instead, and in full. Yayness *snuggles the elf and dwarf*
  
• Wrote an allergic!Remus fic in honor of the holiday today :-)
  

I wrote this in one hour... didn't have much time to edit it, so I hope there's nothing major! This struck me earlier tonight as I was reflecting on the holiday and I decided to give myself an hour to write it :-)

Much more successful

Had a much more successful run across town to Best Buy today. Came home with The Clone Wars (on sale for $13 instead of $15) *snuggles sexy Knight Obi-Wan* and also The Last Unicorn and Muppets Take Manhattan.

It was a tough choice between The Last Unicorn and Muppet's Treasure Island... even now I'm not entirely sure I made the right decision, but I've been debating it for days now. I adore Muppet Treasure Island (I just can't get enough evil!Tim) but I see it on TV occasionally and I have the soundtrack, and I never see a thing for The Last Unicorn and it's a movie I dearly loved as a child. Damn... I have an entire DVD rack of "I loved this as a child" DVDs: Care Bears, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Charlotte's Web, Ernest Goes to Camp (don't ask- LOL!), The Dark Crystal, The Storyteller, Willy Wonka, The Goonies, The Neverending Story pts 1 & 2, Adventures in Babysitting... and a handful of Disney movies, of course. But what would really make me happy is the Pound Puppy movies and series out on DVD!

But until then, I'll just be happy with my sexy Knight Obi. Even if I think it's silly that they don't all have commentary. But, hey, if I really cared that much I'd be a Hyperspace member and I'm not.
